It was known that the adoption of bitcoin as legal tender in El Salvador would generate many opinions, in favor and of course against.

The world bank was not going to remain oblivious to the decision taken by the small country and chose to counteract the Salvadoran government's decision to issue some surprisingly unfortunate questions, not so much because of the tone of the criticism but rather because of the points chosen for criticizing.

Although the world bank thanked the government of the Central American country for requesting help and advice from international organizations on this complex issue, it denied assistance, citing the lack of transparency and environmental deficiencies of the Bitcoin system.

Without intending it, the financial body took a wrong step when talking about the environmental problems of bitcoin since at this time in Europe several multimillion-dollar projects are being promoted that precisely target fossil fuels, in fact, there are several environmental organizations even the euro. deputies who are raising voices of protest for those decisions.

Of course, several analysts and financial advisers with sympathy for cryptocurrencies came out quickly to criticize the world bank, ironically it was said that this body opposes bitcoin because it has not yet found a way to get money from it.

Regarding the environmental issue, ignorance is mentioned or, what is worse, even partiality of the body encouraging investments in non-ecological matters in Europe. In recent times, there is talk of very important investment projects in renewable energy precisely by cryptocurrency mining companies to make matters worse.

Regarding transparency, not much has been said but also here the arguments of the world bank and other financial control organizations are not entirely sincere and show a certain ignorance of the operation of decentralized registration.

Of course, this issue is just taking temperature, and surely in the future, we will continue to witness controversy and criticism, some ruthless. We all hope that at least decency prevails and not lies and inaccuracy because that way they will only get the crypto ecosystem to be massively accepted much faster.

Se sabía que la adopción del bitcoin como moneda de curso legal en El Salvador iba a generar no pocas opiniones, a favor y por supuesto en contra.

El banco mundial no iba a permanecer ajeno a la decisión adoptada por el pequeño país y eligió para contrarrestar la decisión del gobierno salvadoreño emitir algunos cuestionamientos que sorpresivamente resultaron poco afortunados, no tanto por el tono de las críticas sino más bien por los puntos elegidos para criticar.

Si bien el banco mundial agradeció al gobierno del país centroamericano el pedido de ayuda y asesoramiento a los organismos internacionales sobre este tema tan complejo, negó la asistencia alegando la poca trasparencia y las deficiencias ambientales del sistema Bitcoin.

Probablemente sin pretenderlo, el organismo financiero dio un paso en falso al hablar de problemas ambientales del bitcoin ya que por esta época en Europa se están impulsando varios proyectos multimillonarios que tienen por objetivo justamente los combustibles fósiles, de hecho hay varios organismos ambientalistas y hasta euro diputados que están levantando voces de protesta por esas decisiones.

Por supuesto que varios analistas y asesores en cuestiones financieras con simpatía por las criptomonedas salieron rápidamente a criticar al banco mundial, de forma irónica se dijo que este organismo se opone al bitcoin porque todavía no ha encontrado la forma de obtener dinero de él.

Respecto al tema ambiental se menciona desconocimiento o lo que es peor aun parcialidad del organismo alentando inversiones en asuntos nada ecológicos en Europa. Para colmo de males, en los últimos tiempos se está hablando de proyectos muy importantes de inversión en energía renovable justamente por parte de las empresas de minería de criptomonedas.

Respecto a la transparencia no se ha dicho demasiado pero también aquí los argumentos del banco mundial y de otros organismos de control financiero no son del todo sinceros y demuestran cierto desconocimiento del funcionamiento de la registración descentralizada.

Por supuesto este tema recién está tomando temperatura y seguramente en el futuro seguiremos presenciando polémicas y críticas, algunas despiadadas. Todos esperamos que al menos prime la decencia y no la mentira y la inexactitud porque de esa manera solo lograrán que el ecosistema cripto se acepte masivamente mucho más rápido.
