Most of the people around the world who have a Netflix subscription know or have heard of the Korean series that breaks audience records in more than 90 countries.

While it is not my intention to go into detail about the plot and content, I will only say that it shows some realities of a complex society where poor people can, in their desperation, do incredible things like play and die if they lose.

Taking advantage of the success of the series, some video game developers have created a version of the series to play online, but that's not all, anyone who wants to participate in the game must purchase a cryptocurrency that the authors put without much originality by name "squid".

This cryptocurrency is of the “play-to-earn” style that is already used in several other online games where to be able to participate it is necessary to acquire tokens and where you can win (or lose).

As reflected in the white paper of the game's website, 10% of the proceeds will go to the developers and 90% will go to the final winner and of course, the more people participate and buy squid, the greater the reward.

According to the creators themselves, the game promises to be as exciting as the Netflix series, but with the slight advantage that no one here has to die.

Only being a small portion of how successful the series has been could good profits be obtained, We will see if it works.

La mayoría de las personas alrededor del mundo que cuentan con un abono en Netflix conocen o han oído hablar de la serie coreana que bate records de audiencia en más de 90 países.

Si bien no es mi intención entrar en detalles sobre el argumento y contenido, solo diré que muestra algunas realidades de una sociedad compleja donde la gente pobre puede, en su desesperación hacer cosas increíbles como jugar y morir en caso de perder.

Aprovechando el éxito de la serie, algunos desarrolladores de video juegos han creado una versión de la serie para jugar en línea, pero eso no es todo, aquel que desee participar del juego deberá adquirir una criptomoneda a la que sin mayor originalidad los autores le pusieron por nombre “squid”.

Esta criptomoneda es del estilo “play-to-earn” que ya se utiliza en varios otros juegos en línea donde para poder participar es necesario adquirir tokens y donde se puede ganar (o perder).

Según lo plasmado en el papel blanco de la web del juego, el 10% de lo recaudado quedará para los desarrolladores y el 90% serán para el ganador final y por supuesto, cuanta más gente participe y compre squid, mayor será la recompensa.

Según dicen los mismos creadores, el juego promete ser tan apasionante como la serie de Netflix, pero con la leve ventaja de que aquí nadie tiene que morir.

Solo siendo una pequeña porción de lo exitosa que ha resultado la serie se podrían obtener buenas ganancias, veremos si resulta.
