After one month of having a DCity, I must say, I'm really intrigued by the different layers of the game.

Current DCity Status

As of today, I have a small city with a population of around 295, 193 SIM Income, 227 popularity. I'm quite satisfied with the % of scientist in the city while I'm not actively developing education and creativity, the scores are up from last week.

I do want to thank President @thegoliath for relieving us for about a week from paying war tax, which gave my daily SIM income a much needed boost. But, I guess there was a lot of political pressure, because the war tax is back on the board.

Strategy

For now, the strategy has been to built up enough SIM income to buy a new card at least once a week. That card is also need, as I'm now consistently getting new immigrants and homeless in my city.

The idea for me is to create a production focused city, that invests a lot into trainingen immigrants and homeless, to the point that nearly everyone is employed and contributes to the city.

I invested heavily in getting my hands on Job Centers and it is paying off, because trained my first worker today!

As you can see, I also get a couple immigrants and homeless a week, not much yet, but it will get more as the popularity grows. With my SIM income, I try to buy one card for 800 SIM a week. Last week I received a farm, which nicely fits in with my focus on production, as I now focus on Farms, Breweries and Weed Farms as part of my production strategy.

The Social Aid Office

This week when buying a card, I got a Social Aid Office. In a sense, I got really lucky. It has a 0.5% rarity rate, which I would roughly translate into a 1 in 200 chance of receiving such a card. The only problem is, in the stage where I'm currently in, I have no need for such a card. Most likely, with the strategy that I currently have, I never will. I don't have any social support to decrease, because I have no unemployment. And for the Social Aid Office to be effective, I would need to have hundreds of unemployed people.

So, I decided to sell my first DCard on the market. Because of its rarity and advantages for bigger cities, the card is actually very valuable. The trade rate is somewhere around 44.7 SWAP.HIVE and I initially listed it around that price, but I wanted to be the next person to have mine sold, mostly because I wanted to directly reinvest. Because I wasn't the only one using a similar strategy, I decided to change the price to 40 SWAP.HIVE, much lower than other offers, but still enough for me to properly reinvest. And after dropping the price, it was bought. This gave me 40 SWAP.HIVE to reinvest.

The 40 SWAP.HIVE was invested into a Brewery, a WEED Farm, a Solar Plant, a Wind Turbine, an Apartment and 2 Job Centers. As you can see based on the image, one job center hasn't been completely filled in, but I'm choosing that strategy so new immigrants have a place to start straight away without becoming unemployed.

Investing in Tech

While I do have Research Center, I only have 40 Education, which means I only have a 1% discovery chance, so I did have to buy several technologies. I decided to buy ECO Energy, as I have been focusing on Solar Plants ever since I started. And, it also explains why I bought a Wind Turbine this time around. For me studying the tech cards has been interesting, but there is little additional info available, or at least I haven't found the correct sources yet, for now, it is figuring out as we go. For instance, I have a fully automated brewery, but do I need a basic Automation first before the Brewery card can become active (I'm guessing no, but it would be nice to know).

What's next?

For now, I'm pretty satisfied with the city's growth. Selling off the Social Aid Office meant I could (re)invest without having to go into my own pocket. I know I won't strike lucky every week, but I'm slowly and steadily growing now. I hope to reach top 400 city status within the next month and to continue the strategy of having a green SIM income based city with 0% unemployment.

That's it for this weeks update. Hope you enjoyed the read. If you have any tips feel free to share in the comments.
