I started off my crypto journey for the sole purpose of gains, I just wanted to put in fiat, make profits and go back to my fiat life feeling all good and smart.
But it didn't work out as I wished, I lost money.

Something happened along the line, instead of just focusing on the gains I developed interest in Bitcoin at a fundamental level which didn't and haven't made me an expert on Bitcoin but I have and continue gain knowledge enough to keep in inclined to it's advancement. Basically I found my WHY with Bitcoin.

I found the world's been gifted with a powerful tool, a tool no one can control, the idea of a bank in my pocket was appealing to me and most importantly decentralization, I hate being boss around so Bitcoin and it's underlying chain offers me the platform to interact as wished without Big Brother's control.

Invariably that interest at a fundamental level led me into finding Hive, it makes me seek WHY over a particular cryptocurrency or blockchain with the intention of making money off it.

I am prompted to putting this piece together based on interactions in a Telegram crypto chat group. Majority are only focused on making money ignoring the freedom and other benefits cryptocurrency/blockchain offers.

Not to say making money shouldn't be the motive but from a personal standpoint familiarizing myself with a particular source of income works better.

As much as DEX offers no KYC requirements and privacy, it would be safe to say without centralized exchanges we wouldn't be at this stage of moving funds around easily in comparison to the complexities of DEX usage.

But that doesn't make me a fan of CEX, I have to use CEXs now with the hope of more friendly to use DEXs showing up down the line.
And here's where I feel it boils down to understanding the fundamentals of cryptocurrency and its underlying technology.

Clearly from the above comment privacy is of no concern to that individual, tax collectors coming after your crypto gains through the use of CEX hasn't been given a thought.

In a world where humans are being controlled with the extent getting worse (Covid lockdowns a reminder) seeking means of less control over humanity should be considered.
I feel blockchain/cryptocurrency has a part to play in freeing us to some extent, we've just got to develop interest in the potentials and not just focus on the monetary aspects alone.
