Converting steem to hive, using beeswap & hive-engine [TUTORIAL]

I have been using @blocktrades for all my transfers so far - recently they stopped supporting steem - so that left me hanging with some steem that is coming from powering down my account there.

Today I will use BeeSwap to transfer some of my steem and I will provide you with a full tutorial.

Step 1: Visit https://beeswap.dcity.io/

Step 2: Enter your username

(1) Enter your username on the top right and click the little door on the right side (2) You see your remaining liquid steem at the wallet section

Step 3: Type the required amount that you wish to convert

We do not wish to receive STEEMP on S-E, we wish to receive Swap.Steem on Hive Engine (check Step 4)

Please note:

Send STEEM to @hiveswap to receive STEEMP on S-E. Include MEMO: hive-engine to receive SWAP.STEEM on HIVE-ENGINE.

Also there is a deposit fee: 0.25%

Using Hive Engine

Step 4: Transfer the required amount

I am depositing 50 STEEM and I will receive them in SWAP.STEEM in the Hive Engine

Enter your active key or use keychain (I prefer the first way) and then click on Approve

You see the confirmation by receiving a transaction id

We renew the page (F5) and we see our balance to increase

Step 5: Visit Hive Engine and the HIVEP/SWAP.STEEM pair

Lets go to the HIVEP/SWAP.STEEM pair Link here

Step 6: Sell your SWAP.STEEM to HIVEP

Enter the highest bid and the amount of SWAP.STEEM you wish to sell for HIVEP.

Click on SELL

Step 7: Withdrawing to Hive

You enter the desired amount (I entered 40) and you withdraw to Hive by clicking the link

We use hivesigner and we confirm the transaction

You will then receive the amount in your hive wallet

Step 8: Liquid Hive

You now have liquid hive in your amount / you can power up or use an exchange to sell it for other cryptocurrency or fiat

Please note that this not financial advise, when you do it for the first time please do it with a small amount to try it out first. Also, please be aware that the transactions are subject to transaction fees.

TL;DR

You can easily use https://beeswap.dcity.io/ to exchange steem for hive in a few easy steps.

  1. Type your username at the website https://beeswap.dcity.io/
  2. Enter the amount you wish to transfer from your STEEM wallet and click on 'DEPOSIT TO HIVE-ENGINE'
  3. After the transaction, scroll to the page until the HIVE-ENGINE exchange, where you will see the new SWAP.STEEM amount (you can miss this step and go directly on 4)
  4. Click on HIVEP/SWAP.STEEM TRADING PAIR LINK HERE
  5. Scroll to see the Sell SWAP.STEEM option. Type in the HIGHEST BID and the number of SWAP.STEEM you wish to trade for HIVE
  6. At the end, you can click on 'withdraw hive' or do it via https://beeswap.dcity.io/

you get to use steemconnect, or keychain or hivesigner for all the transactions and you also need to be signed in hive-engine
