What happened is that some dude managed to set up a GPU miner and took control over the distribution.

Luckily i only spent 1 ETH on KOIN at 3 cents. I was thinking about buying during the drop but now that they are developing a GPU miner im unsure how much that will affect the price in the short term so ill just keep what i have and not buy anything yet. I turned off my miner since its pointless mining anymore. At 5 frequency i was getting 50KOIN last 2 days.

If im being honest this did affect my enthusiasm over the project especially since this happened so early on.
I was also very close to setting up a AWS instance and that would have proven a terrible idea.

This whole mining idea has proven to be a failure and id rather if they simply figured out a model to airdrop the token. Plenty of ways to do it. Then those who see it as free money will dump, those that believe in the project will buy. Price of entry will be lower for those interested in the project then it will be with wasting time mining.
After a year or so after launch no one will care if KOIN was airdropped or mined if the devs deliver a good project.

In the end im a bit disappointed but i dont think this changed anything in terms of merits of KOIN itself.
If you thought this project had potential, you still do, if you were in it for a quick buck, theres still money to be made.
