Welcome to the 8th edition of Dcity Helper.

As you know, one of the things i'd like to do in this series, is giving a helping hand to new Dcity players. I have been doing this for some time now, much longer than i have been posting about it. One of the things i did some time ago, was sending players a combination of a luxury home and a public restroom, as this combo gave them a little start economy with 3 SIM income and that, i hoped, might trigger them to actually start playing. I would point to their mini city in a comment on their posts, usually with some added toilet humor, to give some context to why they just received a public restroom.

Needless to say most players failed to see the funny side, or even totally missed the fact that they were given a city, so that type of promotion did not last long.

When i was goin through the list for possible candidates for this new Dcity Helper post, i came across the city of @taskmaster4450 and i saw a familair setup. A luxury home and a public restroom.

It had been a while since i sent those cards, so i wasn't surprised to see that since then the tiny city had attra cted some homelesss dwellers and hungry immigrants as well, who had since eaten away the miniscule income @taskmaster4450's city was giving him.

This is what his city looked like after months of neglect:

The first things that came to mind, was the fact that my initial investment of 2,65 hive at the time, had generated 7 immigrants and 3 homeless, worth together at today's prices an impressive 3,91 hive, once again showing that farming immigrants is a sound business strategy.

Now let's see if we can up the ante and send some higher value cards this time. Who knows, maybe being featured in this post, plus getting a nice stack of free cards is enough incentive for @taskmaster4450 to actually start playing. And if not, atleasst i will have a nice example of what a larger neglected city look like for future reference.

As i always say that smaller cities should focus on income, rather than education or creativity, we'll see how much we can boost his income with a modest investment.

So lets compare some cards to determine which one has the best income value at today's prices.

Restaurant: the cheapest restaurant on the market costs 5,23 hive. As restaurants bring 10 SIM income daily, the price per sim is 0,523

Shopping mall: the cheapest shopping mall the market costs 7,46 hive. As malls bring 15 SIM income daily, the price per sim is 0,497 Bank: the cheapest bank on the market costs 16,9 hive. As banks bring 30 SIM income daily, the price per sim is 0,563

It seems that the best deal today is to be made on shopping malls, so let buy him 4 shopping malls for a total of 29,84 hive and see what that does to his city.

Mmmmmm, that was to be expected. A big fat “red” 59 in the population counter, meaning that most of the buildings i just bought him are in need of workers and are currently not producing anything. Thankfully, these post have been well received and your generous votes allow me to spend another 15 hive on 3 apartments in order to solve this employment problem.

The total amount of cards donated is as follows now:

4x shopping mall worth 29,84 hive 3x apartment worth 15 hive

Total amount in donated cards: 44,84 hive

Now his city looks like this:

So we created 62 SIM daily income with an investment of 44,84 hive. Now let's see whaat that means in terms of APR. 62 SIM amounts to 22,630 SIM per year, which is after todays's taxes a nice little sum of 17,878 SIM or 85,81 hive at today's rate.

This modest investment of 44,84 hive yields a decent 191% APR. Once again showing that any investment in Dcity is a sound investment, as long as you put a litlle thought in it.

I'd like to thank @onealfa , @rollandthomas , @thegoliath , @ecoinstant , @jrcornel and everybody else who supports my Dcity Helper posts, your votes matter and help me give away more cards on each new Dcity Helper post!
