Some people have asked themselves and their readers what to make of this. I'd say this is only normal behavior on part of $HIVE.

Middle-tier coins like $HIVE are prone to pumps like this particularly after the largest cap coins have rallied. When profit taking happens and investors sell their BTC, ETH etc., some look for middle-tier coins that haven't pumped, yet. We'll see if what we're looking at turns out to be a double top, which is when a correction would be due. But in any case, this is yet another example of how the price of $HIVE behaves: the upswings are sudden and violent while the corrections are slow.

I would advise against keeping your coins liquid and trying to play the market, however. Coins that are middle-tier in terms of market cap do not have much volume and technical analysis is not very reliable. One large buyer or seller is capable of causing large swings in the price. I would recommend trading HIVE only in the large time frame. Technical analysis is not an exact science and even in traditional high-volume markets only professionals are capable of turning a profit with any degree of reliability. It gets harder in crypto where volatility is great and the very fundamentals are hotly debated. For smaller market cap cryptos, technical analysis isn't worth much more than reading tea leaves. It's much better just to focus growing your stake by creating content, curating, playing games or selling your art.
