Big changes in The Coca Cola Company due to the coronavirus

Our favorite soft drink seems to have caught the coronavirus crisis too! The changes that will be made are mainly aimed at reducing costs.

Big changes are expected in the American The Coca Cola Company, affecting the European company Coca Cola HBC with activities in three continents and 28 countries.

Global sales in the HoReCa and retail categories recorded strong losses in recent months and the current period due to measures to limit the spread of the new coronavirus.

The changes were launched by the parent company of the Coca Cola Co group and were announced on August 28, 2020.

The new business plan of The Coca Cola Company of the USA will eliminate 8 of its 17 business units while the total cost for the voluntary exit programs will range from 350 million to 550 million dollars.

The press release states that business units are being merged and voluntary exit programs will be implemented for approximately 4,000 employees in three of the largest units in the world, in the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico, and similar programs in many countries.
