My little burg in the outer ring suburbs has finally succumbed to the machinations of our evil globalist Lizard Overlords with an “Emergency Alert” issued by the town’s government ordering that we

…shall wear a face covering in indoor areas accessible to the public to include restaurants, retail stores, spaces of public accommodation, entertainment venues and common spaces in multi-family residential and multi-tenant office buildings. For the purposes of this Order, "face covering" shall mean a manufactured or homemade cloth, paper or plastic covering that fully covers an individual’s nose and mouth, secured to the head with ties or straps or simply wrapped around the lower face.

More than four months into this thing and I’m still seeing evidence of all kinds of supply chain issues. Paper products have been an ongoing issue. TP is back on shelves but, at least where I live, rolls of paper towels are few and far between. A few months ago there was no flour to be had, it seemed like everybody was at home making sourdough bread. Now, graham crackers are gone. Everybody’s making s’mores? And it’s got to be challenging having a baby in this environment. A month ago there were no disposable diapers to be had, now baby wipes are hard to find.

Any one empty shelf might be a fluke, but this ongoing pattern seems to be giving us hints of larger problems to come. Stock up while you can?
