24 Hour SPS Sales Graph

The graph above shows the 24 hour sales of the SPS token. Its 24 hour low was $0.40 USD and its 24 hour high was $0.63 USD. Currently the price sits at $0.57 USD. That is a $0.17 increase from its starting point just 24 hours ago. If we go a little further back we will see that the recent upward trend started when SPS was at the price of $0.22. What could of caused this sudden spike?

Chaos Legion

That's right, the soon to be minted Splinterlands edition of cards known of Chaos Legion is responsible for this hike in SPS price. How can that be (you ask)? Well, you see; it was announced just days ago that if one wanted to participate in the presale of Chaos Legion they would need to have SPS staked. This will be monitored by a voucher system in place. Players will get X amount of vouchers per SPS staked vs. total staked SPS. This has caused a frenzy of SPS holders to stake their tokens which means less on the market that is available for sale.

It was also announced that during presale if one was to use SPS to purchase their Chaos Legion packs they would get a 10% discount. This has made many speculate the price of SPS will rise (and it has) so they jumped in and purchased some additional SPS to get ready for the spike and to get ready for the presale. On top of all that the voucher system (which requires staked SPS) will continue for a portion of the general sale of Chaos Legion. If one doesn't have SPS staked to earn vouchers they will first need to purchase vouchers from someone who has them. One voucher allows you to purchase one Chaos Legion booster. The voucher alone isn't enough to purchase a booster, purchasers will still need to pay the price of the booster at the time of sale.

DEC Spike

DEC is once again soaring upwards in USD value. The reason for the DEC spike is very likely because of the USD value of SPS increasing. The USD value of DEC is linked to the USD of SPS because there is currently a year long airdrop taking place that is based on holding Splinterlands assets. One of those assets is DEC (Splinterlands in game currency). So its very likely that the value of DEC will increase as the value of SPS does.

Cards Take A Hit

Ok, Mr. Smartass Rentmoney why has our card value shrunk? Calm down folks, no need for name calling :) Its my opinion our card values have shrunk because everyone is getting ready for Chaos Legion. Owning a card valued at $80 is awesome but is it as awesome as opening/owning 20 Booster Packs? Players/investors are selling their spare cards to bank cash for the new set. I don't see the "old" cards value recovering anytime soon. More of them will get dumped on the market once Chaos Legion is available.

If you are an Alpha/Beta/UNTAMED collector the good news is its now a great time for you to pick up those cards that are missing from your collection. Don't fret my fellow holders, I also predict that card prices will again (at some point) start to be in the green again and reach new all time highs. Patience is important in this game that is Splinterlands. I seen many get frustrated at the swings in market and sold collections for hundreds of dollars that if they just waited a few months would of been worth thousands of dollars (Don't become one of those "guys").
