Are T.V. Competitions worth Entering?

I enter the ITV Tour De France Prize Competitions every year - they're the only T.V. Prize competitions I enter, probably because it's an easy thing to do while I'm lounging around on various afternoons watching an entire stage (and the loverly scenery) unfold.

However, I've no data whatsoever to tell me whether it's worth my time and money (on the stamp, I shit you not) writing down my name and phone number and posting it off, at the cost of about £0.50 for the stamp, rather than the £2 cost of the text message.

I'd like to be able to work out what the chances of winning are based on time taken to enter and cost, but I've no stats.

I figure it's better than the lottery - I mean there aren't that many cycling fans in the UK, so there probably aren't more than a couple of hundred thousand entries, maybe even less than that.

Then again, there's only one prize, so maybe it is a total waste of time!?!?

Still, it's also a bit of fun once a year, and it's become something of a tradition so here's another £0.50 shot to nothing!
