DECENTR - Worth Buying?

Every time I type 'DEC price' into Google search to check out the Dark Energy Crystal Price on Coin Market Cap, I also get a link to the 'other' DEC price - DECENTR.

So I thought I might check out whether it's worth buying!

TLDR - it's an interesting looking project consisting of a Digital Identity and a web Browser that intends to allow users to extract the value of their own personal data, represented by the DECENTR token.

However it's not at all clear from the White Paper exactly how value will be created, or how many DEC will be printed in total or at what rate, and that's off putting enough for me not to buy any!

What is DECENTR?

The main product of DECENTRE is a web browser which allows uers to pay for services with their 'personal data value'.

You need to dig into the rather verbose White Paper to find out more information about how all of this works - essentially the idea is that users create a secure digital identity, part of which is one's browsing history, and somehow this is given a value represented in DEC (DECENTR) which is the utility token which you will be able to use to trade for other tokens.

To quote directly from the executive summary of the white paper

Decentr LLC provides a web browsing experience that gives surfing the internet a payable value. We achieve this by facilitating with our token (DEC) the extraction of economic value from user data into fiat or digital currency.

They have a nice flow chart which doesn't really go very far in explaining how any of this works, but it looks impressive:

The broswer works on various operating platforms - Including MAC/ WINDOWS/ LINUX.

Next stage on the road map is to develop DEFI products, so presumably we'll have yet another blockchain with farming opportunities.

So they have one working product and another in the pipeline, and it's an interesting idea, but that's about as much positive as I can say for the project....!

DECENTR PRICE TREND and Tokenomics

Best described as generally down with occasional spikes of ever decreasing interest....

It's currently ranked around 1100 by market cap, and will probably keep going lower and lower.

The problem is I couldn't find any details in the WhitePaper, or anywhere, to tell me how exactly one's Personal Data Value will be calculated, and neither could I find any information on the print rate or max supply of DEC.

DECENTR - Worth Buying?

No - if a project can't straightforwardly tell me how many tokens they are going to be printing and how often, just no way am I buying.

And the whole concept just seems a bit pie in sky theoretical to me in terms of value!

Defo NOT a buy for me right now!
