New Chaos Legion Plans... Buying in Gradually!

The pre sale plans for Chaos Legion were somewhat different to what I had been expecting.

The price increase was greater than I'd anticipate -

at $4 a pack these are now twice as expensive as the Untamed packs, however this is understandable given how much card values have increased and I don't think this increase is at all unreasonable, it sounds 'about right'.

The real shock for anyone who hasn't got a deck worth more than half a million dollars already is the voucher system.

You will need vouchers to buy packs in the pre-sale: one voucher pack and one million vouchers are to be dropped on SPS holders daily for a month, relative to their SPS stake.

I was lucky enough to catch the announcement post early and so immediately bought an additional 12K SPS with some of the funds I had put buy for Chaos Packs. I bought most of this at around 27 cents and it's since increased to the mid 30 cents range.

Now, with 42K SPS staked, I will be dropped around 400 tokens, which will just about allow me to get into the mid tier bonus level if I buy another 100 vouchers to bring my pre-sale purchase up to 500 packs.

Vouchers, of course, are going to be tradable, and so anyone who wants a large buy-in during the pre-sale is going to have to pay the whales for vouchers.

I'm basically OK where I'm at - I'm set to be able to get a decent buy-in of 500 packs, buying another 100 vouchers is going to hurt, but it's only a 20% top-up so that's not too bad.

Now staking AND pooling most of my SPS......

I'm holding off selling any SPS or DEC for at least a couple of weeks - and part staking the SPS, part pooling with the DEC I earn from rentals, as there's still a very decent return in SPS from the drop to DEC.

And buying in packs more gradually than I'd planned.....

I had planned to buy $10Ks worth of Chaos packs in the pre-sale, but I'm now NOT doing that - I'm not going to pay someone for vouchers just to get in early, I'd rather just buy in batches as the packs are released over the coming year - I imagine that if I hold and pool most of my DEC earnings and stake most of my SPS I should be able to hold my level for future voucher drops and be able to buy in batches of 500 until I reach that $10K target, or I might stop at $8K.

I might buy more, but this is crypto, and I don't want to predict what's going to happen 4 months down the line, we will see!

Farming for stables.....

I've got to be sensible about how I use my Splinterlands Investment, I am NOT going to play the game where I get steered into holding and buying in more and more and more.

I am going to make sure I farm off at least some of what I earn, probably starting in two week, I might leave it a month depending on what happens with my share of the SPS drop.

But at some point before the end of October I want to get back to farming off around 30% of my DEC and SPS earnings for stables like I was doing in the early days of the airdrop.

SPS and LAND thoughts....

Just a quick thought - I think this very tight ratio of SPS - Vouchers is really setting the scene for LAND - If 40k SPS is barely enough to satisfy my pack-purchase desires at this stage, I'm almost certainly going to need a much higher stake to manage a TRACT of land - no doubt there is going to be a pre-sale on items linked to that too!

I think SPS is where it's at going forwards for Splinterlands!
