Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last post. I'm still contemplating how I want to go about content in the future, but today I wanted to post about something important that I haven't seen getting enough coverage.

If you own a ledger you might have received an email from [email protected] stating the following:

Dear (Your Name),

We regret to inform you that Ledger has experienced a security breach affecting approximately 85,000 of our customers and that the wallet associated with your e-mail address (your email) is within those affected by the breach.

Namely, on Saturday, October 24th 2020, our forensics team has found several of the Ledger Live administrative servers to be infected with malware.

At this moment, it's technically impossible to conclusively assess the severity and the scope of the data breach. Due to these circumstances, we must assume that your cryptocurrency assets are at risk of being stolen.

If you're receiving this e-mail, it's because you've been affected by the breach. In order to protect your assets, please download the latest version of Ledger Live and follow the instructions to set up a new PIN for your wallet.

Sincerely,

Ledger

Then directly below it is a link to change your PIN. This seems to be related to the marketing hack earlier in the summer. I suppose the hackers waited a couple months for the news to die down and maybe even the crypto price to go up in order to fool people with this phishing attack. It would be good to get some kind further update on what happened on that hack from Ledger and if detailed phishing scams like this with user names and emails will continue.

I want to leave a link to phishing page on Ledger's Website to go over what to expect again. The best way to prevent phishing it to inform people of any new attacks and to be careful and aware of future fraud. Be careful!

Have a good week!
