HIVE BLOCKCHAIN NETWORK:  Never a Dull Moment

There is never a dull moment on the HIVE Blockchain Network, that is for sure. Always something exciting going on.

If one has not heard about the most recent news concerning the hack (using a computer to gain unauthorized access to data in a system) regarding wrapped LEO (wLEO) and Ethereum hosted on the Uniswap Exchange, then they are not paying attention!

A public announcement has been put out by the LEO Finance team to explain what happened. There is also an article on Decrypt. Of course, the individual who perpetrated the hack has not and probably will never be identified. This may be a case for all exchanges to adopt KYC (know your customer), but that is not the topic of this article.

MY RESPONSE

I am a very small fish in a large pond here on the blockchain. When I first learned about the entire decentralized finance (DeFi) craze, I wanted to dip my toe in the water.

Not a great deal of money, but I do have a bunch of wLEO now! I can not do much with it as the contract is up in the air or defunct, but stuff happens. No worries. I never invest an amount that would preclude me from taking care of my living expenses. I view investment as gambling, then again; is not all life a gamble?

Am I angry? No, not all. I do not blame Uniswap, LEO Finance, or anyone except the account that performed the larceny of Ethereum. Actually, LEO Finance was very quick to act to preclude further losses by liquidity investors the best they could.

Additionally; @themarkymark was kind enough to warn everyone, but I saw the post a little too late. Thank you Marky for sounding the clarion.

Anyone that has been involved in cryptocurrency investment for any amount of time knows that these things happen. Do not forget what a certain person did to large STEEM stake holders not too long ago and we know who he is. His initials are Justin Sun.

I am currently selling my whole Gold Foil Collection of @splinterlands cards and once sold will buy LEO tokens to stake. I have also just bought some LEO at the market price and staked it. It is not much, but is my way of showing my solidarity with LEO Finance and confidence in their projects. Both @leofinance and @splinterlands are the two greatest assets that we have on our blockchain.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I wish everyone blessings and groovy vibes. Please remember to never invest more than you are willing to lose. It is the wild west here in the cryptosphere!
