Dear Hivers, until recently dlease.io, the platform at Hive where you can lease and rent out Hivepower from other Hivers, was kind of lacking an attractive market.

This has changed, just look at this screenshot from a few minutes. You can currently earn more than 15% APR (annual percentage rate) by leasing some of your HP to other users. That is more than I can achieve with curating (I know, my fault, but I do still a lot of manual upvoting).

By the way, I have tried it out and it is super easy and also risk-free. You get your daily interest and also can cancel the agreement anytime (just there is a five day cool down period, like with undelegating).

On the Steem version of dlease.io it is even better! Here the market is considerably smaller (67 available leases vs. 114 on Hive), but you can earn an APR of over 20%!

Quite remarkable, isn´t it? Too bad I dumped all my Steem 😎.

But not sure if it is a healthy sign for Steem. Are the users not interested in powering up on their own, but instead pay quite some Steem for having some temporary voting power?

What do you think is the reason, that the returns on Steem are much higher? And would you consider renting out some of your HP?
