I recently received this silver coin that depicts Black Barts ship, The Royal Fortune, navigating the rough waters of the Atlantic.

There were 15,000 of the 1oz .9999 silver version of this coin minted by the Perth Mint (they also minted 500 of a 5oz version!!(and 100 - 1oz GOLD coins!!!!!))

Here is a short bit about the pirate himself:

Bartholomew Roberts (17 May 1682 – 10 February 1722), born John Roberts, was a Welsh pirate who raided ships off the Americas and West Africa between 1719 and 1722. He was the most successful pirate of the Golden Age of Piracy as measured by vessels captured, taking over 400 prizes in his career. He is also known as Black Bart (Welsh: Barti Ddu), but this name was never used in his lifetime.

The detail on the flag is one of my favorite parts of this coin. Just awesome. This was Roberts' first flag and it depicts Roberts and Death holding an hourglass.

I usually don't care about getting all the coins in a series as it can prove to be quite difficult but this one is the exception. This is the second release and it is just bee-you-tee-full.

Here are the first two coins from the series together. The quality of the engraved image is superb.

My question to you is, which pirate do you think will be on the next coin?
