I just inherited a bag of random coins, let's take a look...

In the bag is a State Series Quarter book, missing about 6 coins... We can look closer at that tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Also in the bag was a zip lock with some interesting things in it...
Looks like some rolls of 2006 nickels, some foreign coins and some coins in the paper protectors. We will definitely look closer at that in the coming days.

Today, let's take a closer look at the three-ring binder.

It holds US nickels from 1937 through 2007

It also has about 60 pennies, the oldest being a 1906 and then it has most of the 1940s and 1950s, skips the 1960s completely :) and starts back up in the mid 1970s through 1984.

I inherited these from an aunt who passed away about 5 years ago. When I went down to Arizona with my daughter a couple of weeks ago my folks came up from Phoenix to hang with us for a day and they brought this stuff.

My aunt (Loraine) was my mom's sister and definitely the "crazy" aunt of the family, in a good way. She would always be the life of the party and I would always love it! The more my mom complained the more I liked it. 😂 If any of you watch Bob's Burgers she is 100% Gayle from that show.

Anyhow, aunt Loraine is actually the reason I am here talking to you today. When she passed in 2016 she left my brother and I a few thousand dollars each! I won't go into the whole story now but I will say that after MUCH research on where to stick this dough I found crypto and bough Ethereum in early 2017.

THANKS AUNT LORAINE ♥️

So one thing she did was collect coins, but not the old ones, just current clad coins for the most part. When my first two kids were born in 2003 & 2004 she stared sending them nickels each year. Like, current year nickels in the paper protectors. XD

So the oldest nickel here is a 1937 buffalo nickelminted in Philadelphia (no mint mark) , let's check it out on https://www.usacoinbook.com/

Here is the coin I have.

So now my task is to sift through and see if there is anything of real value here, though I think most of these will be just average coins.
I do like the set and actually look forward to researching it. I'll let you know what I find.
