Stick it to 'em
It is nice when things fall into place, isn't it?
Of course if you haven't heard, Hive has hit a new all time high and this time, it has blasted through the old and hit around $2.4 - that is 1500% in six months. Not bad. Of course, not everyone will be happy with this, as earning Hive gets harder, despite there being a load more value in the system.
Speaking of that, the current blockchain feed price (what the blockchain is calculating as the price of HIVE on a 3.5 day moving average) is only at $1.35 at the moment. The market price is at $2.18 currently, so it will start catching up over the next couple days. However, at this feed price, I now have a $10+ dollar vote - it feels like it has been a while. Once it catches up (if the price holds long enough), it will be getting closer to $20 - that is 200 dollars worth of Hive being distributed every day. Well, 150 in Hive, and 50 in HBD.
New all time high in a moment?
I love these times. Not just because of the value of what I hold is going up to amounts that I could never have dreamed earlier,
NEW ATH of 2.45!
but I love the atmosphere in the community and especially how the people who have been...
working their asses off in all kinds of ways for years on end, suddenly seeing the fruits of their labor well, coming to fruition.
Must be hard to concentrate.
Anyone having issues?
Last night, I went to bed quite late chatting and keeping an eye on what was going on, only to awake in the morning to find that it was acting out of character and there was a lot more to go today. and now, more again. For those who have been struggling to make ends meet but have been still gathering HIVE, I am so happy for them. Take some profits, but know, this isn't over.
A lot of people are going to sell early. If you are one of them, make sure you are happy with the price you get, regardless of where it goes from hear. "Buyer's remorse" is painful when the price drops, but Seller's remorse is far worse, because you already had it in your hand, it was already yours.
This post is taking forever to write - because mostly I am chatting with a handful of friends on Discord who over the last handful of years, have managed to collect a handful of tokens. It is amazing what consistency can do and the power of a group of people who keep each other informed, entertained, supported.
Again - so happy for these people and one day, I will buy them a beer (they don't need me to buy) to say thanks for all of the good times, bad times, and corners we have been waiting to turn. Is this a corner turned for Hive?
I think so. But, as someone rightly mentioned today, this doesn't speak of adoption, this is bullrun pump and hype. It might attract a few people to give it a go when they see how much some people are making here, especially since it is still one of the few places to earn from nothing, but most of them will leave during the bear. The real adopters, work through the bear markets, because that is the best time to build.
The hype times are far too distracting and there are eyes and excitement all over the place, but there isn't a great deal of presence building, relationship building, skill development. It is loud, noisy and people are unable to focus, because they have so many other things going on, especially those who have been playing around for a while.
If my local friends in crypto could see what I actually do in a single day or during the time in the evening after everyone goes to bed, I think they would actually be quite shocked - maybe even worried about me. that is in the bear markets - bull markets are pretty insane and there are so many moving parts and things to learn, check, adjust constantly - plus all of the new developments taking place, the airdrops, the tasks to take care of and on Hive, all of the various social drama - with the writing on top - it is hard to hold it all together.
But as I asked from a client today, if he could make an extra 140€ a day (about double his salary) a day doing tasks outside of his work, how many days would he miss?
Well, this is why I haven't missed a day since 2017. No, I don't earn that daily on average, but there are some days where I make up for the rest, days like today. Technically (haven't sold), I have "earned" about 4 years of salary this week. I have been on Hive for 5 years. It hasn't been easy, but I can't help but feel good that at least today, it seems like it was all worth it. And I am sure, that I am not the only one today looking at the monetary value of their accounts in somewhat disbelief.
But you want to know the incredible thing for me? I have been a small part in creating many of those looks and feelings that the future is going to be better than the past. It might not last long as people get accustomed to the feelings - but I like that even if slightly, I played a role that improved someone's life, while I improved my own.
That is a win-win, isn't it?
Savor these times and remember them for the depths of the bear and know, the bull will return.
Now, it is off to bed, as tomorrow life continues unabated - back to work.

yayy, i am back for the rocket!
why leave? :)
Glad to be a part of the HIVE project - and so glad that the project has people like you on board! Truly, an inspiration:)
I think you joined at a good time to see a bit of the fun in the lead up to the real fun :)
Your blood, sweat and tears finally starting to take on proper value :)
You know, I have always been a beet apologetic in some way for all of this - but, I think I have put in the hard yards - a score every now and again isn't too bad :)
Sh*t's getting real!

@lordneroo(1/1) gave you LUV. | wallet | market | tools | connect | <><
You meant the other way around. :D
Unless you meant 50% of it being curation rewards, but still HBD should be higher. 🤔
I mean with the curation.
200 HBD value in total..
100 HBD paid in HP goes to curator.
50 HBD with 50 HBD worth of HIVE in HP goes to creator.
or am I screwing this up? :D
lol I don't know, you probably had it right xD
You and many others have deserved this and what may be coming. I'm quite happy all around knowing the effects, opportunities and freedom these prices mean for them and myself, although currently just watching the prices and hoping we'll settle at a good one as it will mean this place will attract so much new life to it.
If we can settle relatively high (after a massive pump) adoption will be far easier, as the value will spread much wider. With all the dapps, that will be brilliant.
Pretty exciting times :)
Thanks for all the support over the years :)
Getting a Hive account might cost a bit down the line, but if you're a regular person you can quickly earn that back by socializing.
We hit fricking $3. Good thing it's all powered up 😀 But this is what everyone were waiting, it's a bit surreal to see it really happening.
Lol yeah. Liquids don't last long!
Back about 5 months ago, HBD was killing Hive. It got to one point where 1 HBD was worth 10 HIVE. I remember that time. I was selling all the way down to where there was a balance between HBD and HIVE. The past few days I have been buying some, (not a lot), HBD as HIVE clombs. I started at 1.2 HBD for 1 HIVE. I just got 2.649 HBD for 1 HIVE. Times are good, small steps and small savings as things change.
I do not expect Hive to stay above 3 dollars, but I do like that it doesn't matter as I was able to replenish a little bit of my HBD to save, and then convert to hive when things turn around as I am sure they will one day.
That's a good strategy. How are you doing with the exchanges? Are you making money off it in the end?
Not yet. I will be looking to open a separate/new checking/savings account specifically for crypto transactions next year, I will also need to get a crypto only email address, and a crypto only phone. That will hopefully take place early part of next year after tax time.
Even when I am all set up it will only be small deposits, and small withdrawal to see how it will all work and see how safe it is with out risk to my primary savings/checking account.
Ah I meant on hive, buying HBD then swapping stuff around. Are you making a profit in hive by doing that? I’m assuming you would but don’t know how much.
I'm not sure profit wise. I was selling the HBD when it was a good sell time, and now seems to be a good buy time. With all the effort to stabilize HBD, I doubt that I am making much out of the swaps.
The conversion between the two you have made should be a pretty decent one now :) Good move. I hope you are feeling good about it!
For me, I have been moving HBD into HIVE consistently, as well as Hive into other things too.
I suspect Hive will retrace a bit (unless there are some more crazy bulls) and collect before making a push to 5 and up.
It has been difficult at times to understand some of the concepts of Hive and HBD relationship, but over time I have come to somewhat understand it. Along with my HP goal, I now have another goal one for HBD in the savings account.
Then build a small liquid supply of both so as to be able to take opportunity of things as they come up.
Insanity man! I know it’s relative but did you ever think you’d be worth 3/4 of a million dollars? That’s crazy lol.
I’m conflicted, I want to take some profits but at the same time I’m trying to get to my power goals. The only profits I’ll be taking will be in bitcoin that’s for sure, not going out to fiat!
if it hits 20 - I will be "okay" ;D
Hybrid strategies work the best. Some profit taking, some trading to gather more, some building.
The prices are shocking really... I mean I expected a pump but this is just wow.
Now I literally find it difficult to blog about anything else, quite distracting really, and especially annoying when I consider my 4k HP could easily have been 40k if I had been consistent. Oh well... Lessons learned.
For you though, am genuinely happy for you (and everyone like you) who stuck through the lows.
So... Would you finally be taking some 'me time' profits?... Lol
As I said, just make sure you learn what you need and don't let opportunity slide away again :)
Umm. everything stays in crypto for now at least. I am panning on buying back and getting ready for the next drive up :)
Hive not stoping at $3.00 as it will soon cross $10 . Lets go hive...🚀
It will hopefully move that way by around year's end
A new ATH at $3.4 and my vote has increased to $0.50 which is awesome.
Feels good, doesn't it?
I remember back in the day there was a voting curve. I had a few thousand and didn't even get to a cent.
I've been thinking about relativity...since I pretty much went into second layer tokens with most of the liquid Hive but that was generated by liquidating other second layer tokens mostly... Have I lost value? The USD value remains pretty much the same. No loss there. But in Hive, it would have trippled. Yes loss there. Yet I am quite better off than before, so perhaps a win after all.
Going further back, there was a moment Hive was above 12 k Satoshi. It's growing fast now, 4.6 k as I write but still way below that 12 k mark. So, ATH in USD is still not ATH in BTC.
a good local saying goes.
Peace and Parsley!
it is hard to factor in foregone loss, because you (and I) did the best we could at the time we did it. In hindsight, it all looks easy, but in the moment, it is far more variable. Overall though, we are better off, aren't we?
I don't think we will get an ATH against BTC unless BTC moves down and Hive up. I think BTC will move before that though.
If my aunty was my uncle...
Your post really captures the excitement, energy, and positive vibes that I'm feeling in the HIVE community right now. This is a magical time, and I hope (and am betting) that it continues much further into the future!
Feels good, doesn't it?
This is the thing with Hive - so many benefit at the same time, after working together for that benefit :)
I could not focus on what you were trying to say because I kept giggling about the constant price interjections, I just passed the buck telling J that you were having trouble concentrating on the post because you were watching the price ;D
I missed the peak!! Had to go to bed...
