Impressive: Hive AMA With Ciara Sun Of Huobi Today 10:00 EDT
This is very impressive especially for a blockchain that did not exist more than a month ago.
In the 2.5 years I was on Steem, I never saw anything like this. Unless of course, we count the AMA with Justin Sun after he purchased Steemit Inc. Well, then again, maybe not.
For those who missed it, today, at 10:00 EDT, there will be an AMA with Ciara Sun, the VP of Global Business for Huobi.
To me, this speaks loudly of the communities ability to strike the proper chord with those in the industry.
This was announced by the @hiveio account. I do not know who is behind it but this event is a great achievement. It is also in line with a lot of what I posted about the last week or so. We are seeing a marked difference between Hive and Steem.
With the later, it was a situation where, I feel, the community sat back some and let others (Steemit Inc) take the lead. Perhaps it was inevitable since that entity was positioned to serve that purpose. Sadly, for the community, it failed in that endeavor for the most part.
Now, with Hive, there is no lead entity. There is simply a group of community members who are taking it upon themselves to pull off events such as this. It is also a way to better engage the rest of the community as evidenced by the call for questions.
Certainly, from Huobi's end, this is a common sense idea. Their goal is to try to get more activity on their exchange. Reaching out to a community that is already a target market only makes sense. I have a feeling it did not require much more than a simple request as well as coordinating time to pull this off. Thus, it shows how the ball was dropped for so long before.
In the end, actions like this are what will help keep Hive in the minds of people throughout the industry. We made a lot of noise with the fork, yet it is easy to fall victim to silence. Ensuring that individuals within the industry are still aware we exist is going to be vital. This will, hopefully, be accomplished, to a large degree, by a breakthrough of a few applications.
