The World Is Starting To See The Dangers Of Centralization

There is an ongoing struggle taking place. Centralized entities are trying to hold onto control. Unfortunately for them, they are losing the battle quickly.

As most in the crypto community are aware, Twitter was hacked and some big names were involved in a large crypto scam. I am sure the mainstream media will try to turn this against Bitcoin, acting like it would not have happened if Bitcoin was not around. Of course, anyone with a bit of sense, which is a rarity these days, knows more crime is committed in USD than any other currency.

The hack shows the danger of centralization. What is interesting about this one is the scale of what took place. Usually it is a couple of fake accounts of big names used to scam people. With this, it appears to be a well coordinated effort to hack into Twitter and take control of a large number of social media accounts.

Naturally, many in the crypto community, including on Hive, are hitting upon the idea that the future of social media is decentralized.

@theycallmedan, one of the more active Hivians on Twitter took the opportunity to express how important it is for name people to start using decentrralized social media.

Social media is just the tip of the iceberg. This gets into a much bigger issue. Incidentally, Dan did mention the security issue and future liability contained therein.

Of course, none of this is new. Nothing really changed over the last 24 hours other than the fact that dozens of name accounts on Twitter were hacked. This is a warning yet it is something we discussed regularly over the past few years.

In fact, it does not end there. Proponents of decentralization are continually beating the drum, albeit often falling on deaf ears.

Before the hack even took place, Tim Draper, a renowned Bitcoin bull, made a point about the art world.

This is an industry that is controlled by two companies: Sotheby's and Christie's. Most major pieces of art are sold by these two entities. If you have a masterpiece, you have few choices as to where to offer your wares. The cost of moving a piece of this nature is very high. This is common when assets are not liquid.

Draper believes that the future of art is in blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT). Like what Dan was referring to, Tim did mention the security issue.

“People are going to be able to tokenize their art, and that will make buyers of art more secure in their purchase decision, and make artists happier about knowing where their art is and who owns it.”

However, that is only one of the benefits. The ability to offer fractional ownership or renting to people who want to display is something the art world will be able to leverage. This will likely increase the size of the market because, presently, art excludes most people due to the affordability issue.

Draper things most of the world's masterpieces should be tokenized and auctioned off. This would allow for the new system to be immediately implemented, changing the art world forever.

Governments Implementing Draconian Measures

Governments and other institutions all over the world are using COVID-19 as a means for a major power grab. In democratic countries, we see unelected officials making decisions that affect millions of people. This is unprecedented and likely to get worse. The thirst for power by these entities is only growing.

Behind this is a cabal that benefits greatly. Most lovingly call them the "bankers", the money players who are behind all the moves that we witness. Their control extends to governments, scientific fields, media, food production, and most aspects of society. As the old saying goes, follow the money if you want to get to the truth.

Their power exists because of centralization. People are starting to rebel which does not serve them well. If technology gives people the ability to turn their backs, this will not bode well for their long term plans. Hence, it must be stopped.

The quest for decentalization is one of freedom. Humanity has suffered under the terror of these people long enough. Just the other day a lawsuit was filed against the IRS, claiming the sending out of letters after acquiring account information from Coinbase was a violation of the 4th amendment.

Here we see the problem with tyranny. Laws only apply to the populous; those in charge are exempt.

The hack of Twitter accounts is a part of a much larger process. This battle is for something much greater than just control over our messages on social media. It extends to all aspects of our lives.

While decentralization and open source is not the solution for everything, nor does it provide answers for everything, one thing it does is changes the existing system. It is most agreed upon that the present system is not working for the majority of the population. Of course, this is likely by design.

Ultimately, the centralization-decentralization battle is really just code for the struggle between tyranny and freedom.

And as we are seeing, in this tug-o-war, sometimes the enemy can be our greatest ally.
