Hello everyone!

Hope you all doing good :)

I have been reading some of this new "My Hive Story" posts around Hive and I also went to check the @snook post and found out that he/she is the one that started this trend with this [post](https://ecency.com/hive/@snook/making-my-first-100-downvote)! Well done here, you're a trendsetter now! :)

My friend @l337m45732 did one some days ago, and today I read the one by @eddiesun (hope you don't mind the tag :)) and I decided to participate too!

So I'm here ready to jump on the wagon and drop you some of the insights about my hive story and all the crazy bits that happened in my hive crypto life!

Maybe I shouldn't do this post, maybe no one cares, I don't know but just in case if anyone is curious about @trippymane's story here it is! :)

How long have you been on the Blockchain?

I signed up on Hive on March 19, 2021. I found Hive completely random, I was trading it on Binance and made some bucks on one of the pumps! Making money on it it made me do some research about it and today here I am fully connected to this Blockchain now! Feels good to be here! Feels early to be here!

What was your background in Cryptocurrency when you first came to the blockchain?

I follow crypto since almost day one so when I arrived on Hive I already had quite a good understanding of crypto and the dynamics of dapps, defi, nfts, etc The social blogging part of Hive was completely new to me and that is what I had to learn, to use the right tags, to post in the right communities, to engage and connect with the people here on the blockchain and all of these new things that I didn't have a single clue about! (My biggest social knowledge was about forumfree and forumcommunity when I was a kid, do you guys remember those times? Damn...time flies...)

Unfortunately when I started following crypto I was very young and my family was broke so they did not wanted to invest in these silly internet coins, not even 10$ lol I started investing on my own later in life. I got burned in the last 2017-2018 bull run and because of it I stepped out of crypto for almost 2 years, I don't know maybe I was traumatised lol Anyway I'm back for good ready to get traumatised again, but this time I'm stronger!

What was your background in writing when you first came to the blockchain?

Never wrote a piece of anything in my life! Or at least not in English! Never had a blog, never wrote anything anywhere, this was not my thing at all! I completely stepped out of my comfort zone with this one and I'm very proud about myself because of it!

My main language is Italian, when I moved to UK in 2016 I started studying English from scratch and when I signed up on Hive I made the decision to post content exclusively in English to boost my learning of the language.
I got to say that it helped me incredibly and it still does so everyday! Hive is truly a blessing for people like me trying to learn a new language!

Since joining I now started to dip in my toes in the Italian community of Olio di Balena with the intention to post there at least once a week and in doing so I hope to connect with some Italian people here and improve my Italian writing too! (I'm not a writer nor a blogger lol I guess I have become one.)

How many people did you know when you first came to the Blockchain?

No one, not even one person! I don't even know how I managed to start and meet so many poeple in such a short period of time! Again, this blockchain can be incredible if used in the right way, I'm the living proof of it, started from the bottom now we here (fuck Drake tho lol)

How did you meet people when you first came to the Blockchain?

The first few comments I received on my Introduction Post definitely pointed me in the right direction and I started connecting with people and making friends since day one!

The guys from The Terminal came to rescue and as I joined their Discord server they helped me a lot to understand the basics and to get me started in the right way! Thank you @theterminal and all you guys part of it for all the help and support given me when I was at the very beginning of my journey! (I was about to tag you all but then I scratched that, I do not want anyone to think that I am tagging people to get extra likes :))

Thank you @macchiata, you too have been one of the first if not the first to help me and immediately show me some communities where to start posting. Also thanks for that Linux challenge, I loved to be challenged with Linux as one of my first experiences on Hive! I will cherish it as a great memory of my start here!
RIP to your sudo file, but well you live and learn :)

Since then I connected with so many people here on Hive and everyday (or when the time permits me) I try to check out on some of my favourite people here on the blockchain to see how they're doing and to learn something too! This blockchain can open your mind by a ton! Just be in the right places with the right people :)

A big hello and hug to all my friends with whom I talk, comment and engage everyday, a big hello to my friends in StreetArt, to my newfound friends in Olio di Balena and to all the new people I am meeting thanks to my Graffiti Lettering Contest, you are all awesome guys!

I definitely forgot someone and some communities! Sorry and love you too guys!

Who did you look up to when you first came to the blockchain?

I didn't know much here so in the beginning I was just asking advices to @theterminal and the guys there!

Then I started looking at bigger accounts like @ocd and the curation they do, I wanted to do the things for good! From there I found many other big accounts and just spent some time reading and reading to understand how everything works!

It didn't take me long to understand that copycat, spam and plagiarism here are not allowed, people that do that kinda shit are silly and I'm not one of them lol

At the time when I signed up also our great "hive activist" @ryzeonline signed up here on Hive and I do not even need to tell you that everything that man had wrote about Hive has been of a tremendous help for me! This incredibly long and detailed guide on Hive? Let me tell you Ryze, you are the man! Thanks for everything!

@deepresearch has been a great help too, I think I found Ryze's guide thanks to one of his posts and we made this great connection UK-Poland. I think he's a big guy in the Polish side of the chain! Pozdrawiam :) I do appreciate all the support you give me and I need to stop procrastinating and start going out around London to drop some of the Hive magnets I got from you and spread the name of our blockchain around the world! (Well for now around London lol)

My journey has only began and I still need to look up to many more people and learn much more stuff!

If you guys have some accounts and people that you think is good to follow please feel free to share them in the comments and I will go to follow them ASAP! Thanks :) I tried to follow the important people and the important projects but the time I have is limited and surely I missed loads!

How would you describe your first three months on the blockchain?

Chaotic, brilliant, fun, stressful, scary, joyful, sad, all of them crazy emotions ahahaha

I did't know a single thing and felt like whatever I was doing was wrong. I wasn't even sure if I should upvote the comments of stuff that I like, I was very confused with all the HP, voting power, mana power business and the more I was reading about Hive the more I was getting confused!

I have come a long way since and must say that I learned a lot, still a long way to go but at least now I can feel a bit more confident when I post whatever I want to post!

I haven't received any warning nor downvote so maybe I am doing the things in the proper way lol (I like to think this way ahahahah)

Has being a part of the blockchain changed you in any way for the good?

Absolutely for the good! It opened my mind, it helped me to improve my english, I made so many connections with people from all over the world! Mind blowing really!

And I like to think of it as just the beginning! Much more to come! Thanks Hive!

What is your favorite memory from your time on the blockchain?

For sure being in HiveFest without knowing anyone and just walking alone feeling like a creepo must be one of them ahahaha
But jokes apart that first day of HiveFest2021 is one of my favourite memories from this blockchain because is the day I met @zottone444 and finally decided to engage with the Italian side of the chain! Grazie bro, un salutone a te e a tutti gli amici di Olio di Balena!

If you could give advice to a new person signing up to Hive what would it be?

Don't be a dick only chasing rewards lol This chain is much more than the rewards it drops for the posts, if you're here only for the rewards then go fuck off to other social chains because here we do try to make the chain(world lol) a better place! (At least IMHO, I see so much potential here and so many good projects just in infancy! I'm gonna stick around and see what the future will bring us!)

Don't copypaste the posts you write thinking they are the shit because they're not!

Give your posts a good look, don't just write walls of non comprehensible shit! We're in 2021, not knowing HTML is not an excuse, the Internet is full of material!

Engage with your feed and the people that comment on your posts! (I myself struggle with this because of time but I'm working on it! At least I know where I need to improve! Self-consciousness is the first step to change something! :))

Follow the rules of the community in which you post/engage!

Don't be a spammer! But probably a spammer wouldn't even read such a post, do spammers read at all? lol

Take is easy, at the end of the day we need to have a good time and be able to enjoy ourselves!

Don't be a dick! :)

Thanks for reading!

Did you like my story? Is it similar to yours in any way?

Let me know in the comments!

Sorry if the post went a bit too long! lol I always have this problem where I start writing and I never stop and so much stuff comes out of my head ahahahah Every time! Damn

I've set the payout of this post to 100% HP 😎
