What!

This is big news in the nerd world, an upcoming blockchain rpg game now has backing from one of the biggest AAA video game studios out there. This is big geek news for any one into blockchain gaming. Ubisoft will help in an advisory position in order to help shape the in-game market, the network and the growth of the game. These are things that are key to blockchain games and having a company with both resources and a ton of experience help will make a big difference.

What Is Nine Chronicles?

If you haven't heard of the game it is an idle RPG where your character runs forward and fights everything in their way until they beat the area. I don't think there are any fighting mechanics you can manually manoeuvre but there is crafting and a full decentralised market so you can sell and buy the items that you make. This could lead to an actual job if the market is popular enough. I mentioned this before the in-game smooth market is a must for a blockchain game and having one will make this a lot more accessible to players who give the game a try.

There is also Arena mode so you can challenge other players to see who is the stronger fighter. This means that there will be a demand for items as people will want to be the strongest pvp player in the game. According to the site their will be daily leaderboards where people can win stuff depending their ranking. I do hope the game doesn't get out of control where whales buy a bunch of top items and dominate in the early game.

There is also an in-game economy with NGC (Nine Chronicles Gold) that people can use. This is another way that players can earn by playing and if the value of the coin goes high enough than people will have another way to make money from playing this game. It seems they are really thinking about the virtual economy here and that is a must if your game is going to do well.

Besides that the graphics are gorgeous, with a unique style that could match the quality of any mobile game that is on the market now. You can tell they put the work in the design of each character and this game looks like a professional designed endeavour. I can see why Ubisoft is backing them.

There is a pre-sale coming up but first my warning before I get into:

PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE BUYING ANY CRYPTO IN-GAME ITEMS (FOR ANY GAME), JUST LIKE CRYPTO THEY CAN GO TO ZERO. ONLY SPEND WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE.

The pre-sale sale starts tomorrow and depending on the money you put it you get different items. The base package is $50 USD and you get a credit name and early access (plus gold). Then it goes from there up to $10,000. Personally I don't have the money for a pre-sale and am a little pre-saled out over the years in crypto but if BTC moves I might do$50 or $100 for the adventure's kit. I'll probably just wait for release though.

I'll definitely keep an eye open for this and see how it goes closer to launch.

Oh and it looks like it will be an ETH game by the looks of the pre-sale.
