If you are new to Hive or Leo you might not know the rules here or understand what things you shouldn't do when you are posting. That's normal and you will learn and improve as a user as you go. But in order to help you out I will go over some points of things that you should avoid if you are using these sites. You don't want to be that user getting a bunch of downvotes and having your rep go to (0).

Don't Spam

This is an easy one. Back in the day when Hive was Steem there was a 10 post a day limit but the recommended number of posts was 4. This was a good goal as you could work a few hours on each post and not fill the feed with post after post. I could see max 6 if you are spreading them over 14 hours in a day (we all a lot of time on our hands now) and posting them in different categories but at that point you are starting to push it. A lot of users go 1-2 a day and that is a good amount as well but I get if you are still trying to get seen and want to increase your odds of someone seeing your work. But anything past the 4-6 range is way too much. And if you are posting every 5 minutes all you are going to down is get downvoting to zero (maybe even blocklisted by some users). Try to wait at least an 1 or 2 between posts and don't spam. Oh and this includes comments. Do not post the same one word nice comment in posts, people will not like that.

Always Add A Picture.

It is really easy to add a photo. You can take your own if you have a smart phone as every phone now has a camera on it. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece but something relevant to your work. And if you don't use your own photos there are several sites that use commercial-free photos that you can upload without having to give attribution. Sites like pexel and pixabay are two good ones. Personally I use pixabay a lot and thats where the photos in this post are from. You also don't have to stress with finding something that fits your topic perfectly, you can go abstract as well.

Post The Right Stuff In The Right Group (Especially Leo)

Leo is for blockchain and finance posts (and this post fits I feel as it is about the Leo site itself). But beyond that do not post your posts on Leo. If you are posting about your photography there is a community for that. Do not put it on Leo and it will only get downvoted. I'm not saying you have to be an expert on blockchain but you do have to be on topic. There are clear descriptions on what belongs in a group so please respect that and do not post something that doesn't fit.

Put Some Effort In Your Work

Look I get it the price isn't great right now. Sure I can tell you until I'm blue in the face that the price will go up and if you take the price at a later date you are actually doing well but the truth is the price might never go up. There are no guarantees in crypto and as it is right now you are not going to get rich overnight posting. But still, do not make really short posts. No one wants to see a one sentence post. Try to do at least 300 words as that is the amount that Google picks up on blogs and articles. Even if you are posting photography you are better off posting a couple of pictures than just one.

Avoid these mistakes and keep working hard and you will have more success on here. You will not be perfect right away but if you stick with it you will improve over time.
