I have always loved Leo Finance for the blockchain gateway it is for financial enthusiasts. Sometimes, it takes HPUD to coax me from my lifestyle blogging and get businessy on the blockchain. It might be because I get enough brain focus time every day running a digital marketing agency and blog for a bit of a mental break?
Whatever the reason, I am once again showing solidarity with the active and engaged #hive community who are powering up our stakes in unison. The old guard knows well what Power Up Day is but the new people, possibly even just starting with the new @leofinance app who don't know much about Hive that may want to check out @traciyork's post here
I have had too crazy a month to scoop much Hive off exchanges but have been socking all my content and curation HBD rewards for the right time to convert. With the pump this month and steady rebound after the correction, I really didn't see a good entry point because of a very stable Hive Dollar. Still, convert now before $Hive finds a new home over a dollar and we are sitting pretty.
I forgot about the limit order I created in hopes of snaring a bit more Hive on a dip and came back to discover it had closed as well. Might as well power that up for a little double barrel HPUD. Just over 335 Hive powered up makes me think of a few things.
- A Powerup of less than 3% total HP is not that impressive is it?
- Packing $269 USD back into the blockchain we love is legit for someone solely earning it here.
- Back when I first started powering up, the blockchain was called STEEM, each token was almost $8, and a 336 token powerup would have meant $2,680 USD.
Funny to muse over the past and quick to get back to the present where it a small step for my stake and ability to reward those I follow and engage with. HPUD is no doubt, a huge step for the Hive blockchain and I believe you should gather and power up your liquid hive every month. It's easy and a great active investment.
Marketing During a Pandemic
I do owe you more stories from our position on the front lines of #shoplocal with Town Crier Marketing https://towncriermarketing.ca on @town-crier. We are adding clients and working with some amazing partners in an effort to help every local business get online, compete for local business, and be prepared to snare their share of tourist business when it returns. I will get to those stories as I get some breathing room but here are a few images from our recent exploits which have been primarily for local restaurants.
Rick the Minstrel
It has been a rough ride for restaurants with the let-ups and lockdowns this last while. The ones who are staying active and entrepreneurial are the ones we like to help and the ride turns to fun. Especially the ones who give local musicians a place to perform.
Recently, the provincial government mandated that restaurants allowing in-house dining ensure that all diners are double vaccinated. Think about that for a sec. The vaccination is meant simply to reduce your chances of having to go to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital when you catch it. Good enough for me and a bunch of other folks but delegating the enforcement of the antivaxxer grief campaign to restaurants is a special brand of dumb. Still, rules are rules and we are helping all kinds of venues survive, rebound, and launch with a marketing plan in place.
This is one for my fellow Scotch Whisky lovers. At my most recent gig as a bartender at the fanciest place in town https://revival.house I was asked for a Scotch list. Turns out the bottles revolve so much that there was no list. So, I shot a pic on my phone and presented a photographic list for the table of revellers. Turns out a whole tray of double shots are perfect for a burlesque show.
My favourite here would be the Talisker or maybe one of the glens. Singleton is among the most popular at this place so I should snag a bottle of that for my personal collection.
Another client is competing for a spot in the top page of local searches and have some fancy drinks of their own. I like to drop the links of these clients in a blog as a return of support, and it does wonders for Search Engine Optimization when you consider how many webpages one Hive post appears on. @leofinance, @ecency, hive.blog, @peakd, and each of the other platforms appear to google simply as websites with piles of fresh content and thousands of unique users. When your website is backlinked by platforms like this, it is a turbo boost to pleasing Google and appearing in their searches.

Last, but not least, we are helping a long-standing client launch their second restaurant, in the middle of a pandemic. This is the before shot as renovations have started, and we are planning out the signage and logo design. Seriously, support your local restaurants in this time of service insanity. If it is the same way as it is here, these businesses are hanging from a thread and struggling to hire people, juggle shifting operational rulesets, and are looking in the face of a long winter. Treat yourself, involve yourself in their culture, and build a little more take-out and dining out into your lifestyle. Noble AND delicious!
