GENEROSITY! and other things important for STEEM

For this #showcasesunday I am showcasing something different: My opinion! For a society to not only function but be a happy one, generosity is key. The opposite is dry, efficient calculation. Unfortunately this is what most of the societies are moving towards, with dull arguments about anything else not being profitable/sustainable. Thus the new rage against socialism, which I find obscene: No, we can't afford general well-being, let's swap it for general unwell-being and reward a few. This is also happening on STEEM. O.k., I also sometimes save my first 100% vote for my own post, but in general I am trying to spread it all over; no matter if I expect a post to gain huge rewards or not. I also upvote comments. Seriously? What a statement! It seems many people stopped upvoting comments the moment they were not that profitable anymore. But what does 'profitable' actually mean? Is it no profit to make somebody else happy? To motivate them to create more and better content? The math of these people is very narrow minded! Same goes for most of the 'big' voters, that, after a short intermezzo following HF21, again turned to a stupid concept: I vote what brings me the highest rewards. This is easy, and some pages (e.g. @steemsports) seem to be setup solely for that purpose. I miss some engagement, I miss people 'wasting' their votes for the sake of a positive atmosphere. I also miss people taking care of this blockchain by taking responsibility. And by this I simply mean: Go and use your downvotes! (I won't flag you if you don't, there is only one guy out here that strict). But do it! And if you are scared, here are (again) some users I keep on downvoting (as they are scamming the shit out of here), and I never even received one single retaliatory vote: @superheroes @steemengineteam You can also support e.g. @steemflagrewards; I do sometimes wish they'd showed a bit more genreosity, but all in all they really put a huge positive effort into the future of this blockchain! A bit unrelated, but one more time a big shout out goes to @steempeak. Their work on making a window to the world for this blockchain is invaluable, and guessing from the silence of their account, they are working on a big update. I can't wait.

This is only my second post without a photograph; sometimes I spend time
on politics; it is the tool to give all these great potentials a Gestalt.
Over and out Yours Captain
