Lucky With The Timing
Yesterday was the third power down received from Steem and what good timing. I had to check back from the previous two to see just how good. They say make hay whilst the sun shines and it definitely was at the time earlier on anyway before Steem dropped and Hive rose fractionally. At one point 1 Steem worked out to be 1.5 Hive which is incredible once you see the figures from previous power downs. source One week ago it was roughly 1/1 before someone dumped their Hive creating the difference which has infact helped those of us converting. This has really allowed us to obtain more Hive so I say thank you. Users now have much more stake than what they would have otherwise.
Two weeks ago I received 447 Hive for around 930 Steem as Hive was more than double in value than Steem. Just think if we had only known what was going to happen and just waited. It swings in roundabouts though and I was just happy to get my coins into the safety of the Hive block chain.
The safety I think is still on everyone's minds and getting out before something else happens is on all our minds. I was a bit screwed as I was relying on Blocktrades for my transfer over and that avenue was shut down. yesterday I heard that Steem Engine offered a way out and have been using them for this and it has been super easy and fantastic.
Like anything in life timing is of the utmost importance and for once I was in early before the price rise and mad rush on Steem Engine this evening. At one stage Hive was at 0.66 against Steem and is now just under 0.8. Not huge volumes as only 12 000 Steem has been traded over the last 24 hours, but that has at least meant this is now 18 000 more Hive staked which is a good thing.
When we moved over to Hive I had only 11 964 Hive and after 3 weeks have 18 600 with 10 power downs to go so a good target would be to be in the 40 000's somewhere by then, but that is all depending on both Steem and Hive prices behaving over that period.Who knows as I would have been happy with 25 000 Hive by then and not going to worry too much and what will happen will happen.
