Not Fantastic, But Still Better Than What Musing Did

I made a post earlier about Dtube losing it's delegation thinking it was short sighted. I have had to change my mind somewhat after looking at their account on Steemworld. This app has had more than enough time to get their act together. I am just saying it as I see it as there is no right or wrongs with this as everyone can see it from a different view point.

Roughly a year ago or just over by a few months Musing lost it's delegation leaving many users pissed off and bewildered. The Apps had been warned at Steemfest by Ned at the time that they need to stand on their own two feet as a business. I was a heavy user of Musings and yes I plundered it like a pirate. I saw it as something that could help me kick start a cycle of rapid growth and a few of us did just that.

Musing was not thinking long term unfortunately as they were only propped up by the delegation plundering the curation rewards. The Musing Steemworld account was in a constant power down leaving many of us wondering if we had another Dlive scenario on our hands. This didn't make any business sense and goes against what they should have done if they were genuine.

Dtube I have very little dealings with, but having looked at their account on Steemworld it doesn't look overly great either. Over the last 30 or so months that they have been operating the app/account has accumulated 271 000 Steem in rewards, but has only a stake holding of 100 000. When I started my business the aim is to build your foundation so it can be sustainable. The same I would have thought with this as they have only staked 35% or so. Is this a sustainable app that can stand on it's own two feet as a business after having had a decent delegation? Did it deserve more time and would the site have run it differently is what I ask myself and I honestly doubt it.

I have no idea what expenses they have and I am sure they had more than Musings who put it down to curation when upvotes would have sufficed with such a large vote never really washed as they were milking the delegation. Back then the vote was worth $50 and Steem was worth more than $1 then. Dtube's vote has decreased by 700 % from around $22 to the $3.15 mark or so.

Whatever happens going forward a block chain needs a video channel offering alternative posting routes. I just hope Dtube can hold onto the users they have already and it wasn't just the vote keeping everyone interested .Dtube bought users onto Steem so there is that argument as well as it was a positive tool for marketing Steem.
