I tend to walk more often when going places in my little city of Amsterdam. Living about 2 kilometres away from the centre centre and I mean the absolute centre of the city and between 100 metres and 4 kilometres from my friends in town, going by foot between any place of interest and my own home is very doable! And you know what? Going by foot - instead of bicycle (of which I don't own any), scooter, car or even public transport - is the best way to notice the small things around us which can make us feel happy (or any other emotion for that matter).

Yesterday was one of these days, evening actually). Usually I keep my phone or camera in the pocket, but yesterday I took the time to shoot some photographs. All of them I was able to capture during a walk of about 30 minutes. All these made me smile and therefor happy in one or the other way.

Am always surprised noticing how much beauty seems to be tucked away, while it is just in front of our eyes. Rarely we take the time to capture this beauty in the active parts of our minds, our conscious.

Although Amsterdam in itself is a beautiful city from architecture point of view, I think these hidden beauties are everywhere and makes even the worst and most depressing city, town or village, look beautiful.

When seeing this one, I thought: "How cool would it be if this model was a lot bigger with a real engine and what not and I could drive it myself!". Many decades ago we had race cars looking like this, but I think this shape outdoes any of the real cars.

A few meters further down the road, this traditional water can. Before streaming water, this Delft Blue designed water can was used to wash oneself.

A still that didn't came out as nicely as the view in reality. Not so many people have lights in their garden and trees, especially not outside the X-mas period. What a shame, since it makes a street look so much nicer. Not only the cozy tree makes me feel happy, but also the thought of the home owners who must be happy people when spending time and money to decorate their front garden to create an positive atmosphere in the street.

In the same - overall not so cool street from the looks of it - it are the small things that makes me smile and happy. Other than the lighted tree, also this beautiful glass above the front entrance of one of the homes. It is in different colours, but due to the darkness, these fell off the photograph. But still, beautiful. Look at the hall light behind the glass; I think it fits the glass totally.

Did I say: "Not so cool street?"...

A little further down the street this cute, sunny and very flowery bicycle was resting. If I would own one of these vehicles, I would definitely consider to make it such a happy place as well.

WOW, my next outfit for some future event... or the office! :) Would fit perfectly with the bicycle :)

A small art gallery! Now the movie Joker is released on DVD in Europe, perfect timing to put this gigantic painting up for everyone to see. Well, all those passing the gallery. I'm trying to enlarge the audience to all those connected to the big wide internet.

Interestingly, it was late at night when I passed this gallery yesterday, after 12 already (so, today it was) and the gallery seemed to be open; Very unusual. Lots of light (good for the photograph hence I don't complain :)) and this guy looking very busy with his smartphone to the right. He didn't even look up from whatever he was doing when I stood in front of the window and took this still. Maybe he will see this blog post this evening :)

Hmmmm, not a lot is allowed in this little street! I suppose boats wider than something and higher than something else and weighing a lot are not allowed to exists :) At least not in this street.

The MOON!

Ooops, after checking this morning, it seems to be the sign of one of these new kinda micro breweries, Oedipus. Most restaurants and bars have a deal with a beer company and require their brand to be visible from the street. Usually one of the big brands. So cool to see the way smaller breweries are getting deals as well. BTW, the designer of this logo must have been on acid; No-one is able to create such a design without being inspired by the hidden mind; That part of our mind we wake up by super connecting our brain.
