A sober Saturday's meandering....

By sobriety, I'm not talking about alcohol (or any other mind altering substance).

I'm talking about seeing things as they are. Something, I personally, see lacking when it comes to Hive, it's users, and the bigger players (maybe)...

Hive is going nowhere.
Quite quickly, in my opinion.

Remember steem? Nothing has changed in terms of 'the front line'.(not devs , user experience) The same echo chambers are still getting the same circle jerk payouts. The same upper echelons still 'rubbing one off' on each other.

I'm not gong on a rant here, honestly - I'm really not. This is all very calm and easy going...

I've been spending a lot of time on twatter recently. Part of that has been promoting hive. Not so much 'promoting', actually - more of a gentle 'bringing #hive to peoples awareness' kind of thing.

I intentionally stayed away from anyone 'crypto' related.

Due to the 'hive twatter campaign' taking on a bizarre, cultist feel to it, I had to open another account, (and not remotely related to the one I initially used below) my old account - I still use it, but not in relation to hive promotion/awareness work.

A quick diversion... I've said this before - An I'll say it again - what kind of place is this? One that you want it to succeed, and also, at the same time, a place you don't want 'other parts of your life' connected with? Isn't that a bizarre situation all by itself? Think about it....
Diversion over..

I've put my other internet business's on hold for three months.( I'm in the fortunate position to be able to). Note: For those worrying about my financial well being (lol) I've had two year haitus's from my shit, before - and can be back in full throttle again, within a fortnight - so I have no qualms about leaving it alone, worrying that it won't be there when I resume 'normality' again - My business doesn't work that way. I hope that quells any fears you might be having for my well being....lol

So.... back to twatter, hive, and 'all that'....

Discussions about Hive have been very mixed. (oh, a quick diversion - again) My foray into twatter before coming to steem/hive, was around three months. That was my first twatter account. When I came to steem/hive, I enjoyed it much more.... More in depth, quality articles, and more 'real' interactions. Both of these hive 'selling points' have become less noticeable... significantly so , imo. I fact, I would go one step further.... Some discussions that I've had in the DM's in twitter, have been of the same quality of interaction that I first experienced here, on Hive (I'll drop using the 'steem' word from here on in). Not only that, the 'lighter side' of interactions on twitter far exceed the slow moving pace of hive.

Hive isn't growing. It feels stale.
Without some 'killer app' (and/or gambling), I see no area for growth on the platform itself.

I write this a sadness, not anger. (ok, 'sadness' might be a little too dramatic, but you know what I mean).

Here are a couple o responses that I‘ve had on twitter, about hive/crypto. (the VAST majority – have never heard of hive and not interested. 'Crypto is a ponzi'. I’d put this at 90% + of all responses, when I've brought it up.) So leaving aside over 90% of ordinary people (90 fucking percent!), I’ll tell you of some of the remainder.

One notable conversation I had, was with a gentleman with hundreds of thousand of followers. While he himself isn’t someone that I’ve heard about before (he’s in finance), he does get responses from his tweets, from the likes of Bloomberg. My point being , he is big enough an individual, to be in regular contact with the big boys - either in media or finance.

Here are his sentiments about the crypto space - in general (over a few hours of dm’ing).
Hive specifically never entered into it.

HIM; "If crypto becomes the government controlled, new currency, then all the present coins will be legislated out of existence, or fall off a cliff overnight, in terms of value. ('off a cliff' meaning going to worthlessness in a matter of days/weeks). Or, they are already owned and controlled by governments/large financial houses. Taking control of this entire market – which is tiny in the scheme of things - wouldn't even cause ‘a blip’ in the big institutions. “

Like I said, he never touched specifically on Hive (why would he?).

Hive is an oligarchy by any measure – and – like I’ve been saying forever , it is fundamentally flawed if you are not in the top tier. (oligarch status).

I say ‘flawed’, but I don't actually mean that.
It’s working exactly as it was intended to….imo - but for it to work 'as intended', it necessitates politicking, subterfuge, deception, and the selling of a false narrative of ‘earnings’ from blogging, re-distribution of tokens...blah blah.

Don’t get me wrong – this does happen. It has to happen for the designed system to work. As intended.

Casino’s like winners, it validates their product.
But that’s all it is. Image. They need winners, or their product wouldn’t be used. Does that echo something of the hive system?

Does that paradigm go some way as to explain the incessant circle jerk upvoting, for instance – because it certainly isn’t based on originality, or insightful/entertaining/educational, material.

So where does that leave us? I don't know.

I will continue to engage on twitter – it offers me more value - in terms of he numbers reached - than hive.

Where is the logic in focusing your attention inwards, into an ecosystem that is staid? There is more chance to change what it is, by going outside of the platform. ...or maybe it's a case of more ' how long can these plates be kept spinning - before they crash to the floor?'

If you see hive as a financial product - in the hope of the token price 'mooning'- that's upto you. There is nothing wrong with that, if that’s your thing, but at least be honest about it, without trying to cloak it in some virtue signalling about 'communities' or 'engagement'.
That's just lying by omission and disingenuous in it's motives. When money comes in social interactions (social media) it all changes.

You don’t have to believe me, just watch…..One person with major hive holdings is already setting up their exit...with another associate of theirs, close to follow - in my estimations. (no, I’m not giving out names - oligarchical favoritism prevents me. See below for a more detailed explanation about the fallacy of censorship on here).

Claim:

There is no censorship on Hive.

No there isn’t....or is there?

VACCINATIONS ARE NOT MANDATORY – but you can't do anything in your life , unless you get a needle in the arm.

There is censorship through negative incentives. (like any socialist system).

I will not say some things on here because of the blow back. Am I scared?
No, not in the slightest.
I’m being strategic.
I want this next three months to return some rewards for my posts - and for my hours of effort on twatter. (maybe i can bill Hive in retrospect for my work - it seems to be the way to do, from what I hear. What a fucking bizarre reality that is!).

.....But do you see how this 'censorship thing', works?

Authoritarian mind games to control peoples actions. Hive’s system is no different.
Get rewards for being sycophantic, and playing the Hive ‘praise game’….You get the idea.

So no , there is no censorship – but if you rock the boat – you can expect negative economic consequences to you and your freedom of expression. Questioning the authority will be met with negative consequences. Hive is very communistic in its authoritarian dynamic, and the way it plays out. Be a good boy, rewards...question things - negative consequences.

But - just like 'no mandatory vaccines' – there is no censorship.

Hive has 17 people that can deciding anything – including accessibility to your own funds. I.e YOU do not have full control over them - no matter how it's advertised on the tin. Just...kinda maybe.... a teensy weensy flaw?.... Perhaps? This was another issue brought up by another twitter conversation, when they inquired about the set up of hive.

HIM: “Why would I trust 20 people (I said 20 wittiness’s, not 17) that I don’t know, who might well be anonymous, to have the ultimate authority over my own investments?... That's not 'trustless' as I understand it to be.”

Oh, and by the way - IF the powers that be are really interested in growing the platform- in terms of users and positive user cases.

Then why the fuck are 'we' not being paid to move fiverr over here?

All those users there, having to pay commission to the site, for booked work - when they don't need to pay penny in commission, here.

Imagine an army of people stealing users of fiverr and bringing them here...

When certain people get paid 10's of thousands of dollars - for no discernible work, (and then leaving!) and others are getting hundreds of HBD - per day...Imagine what a difference paying people 20 dollars a day to 'attack' fiverr accounts and then bring them over here, would accomplish?

'Win / win' deals are always the best ones to look for when looking for real organic growth. (I'm pretty sure there would hundreds of willing workers to do this for these kind of amounts).

I'm gonna leave it here.
I have shit to do.

Have a great weekend people !!!!!!!
