There is a story of a man who started a business and immediately hired someone to monitor the business for him, he was a busy man who travelled to places and by the time he got back to his business after two months he could not believe what he saw, the business he started with a capital of about $1,000 was only worth $200 and the manager was nowhere to be found. He was only happy he did not loan the money he used to start this business as he would have gotten himself into big trouble. I do not care if you have heard this before but I am going to repeat it again, do not ever leave your baby business void of your presence, it is a different thing if your business has gain grounds and has legal backing but if your business is new, make sure you stay around and monitor it as you build it to your satisfaction.

Learn to pay attention to details, the details you choose to ignore will not get ignored by customers or investors, it is necessary that you learn to take proper notes and record, pay attention to simple details in your business, learn to fix loop holes as quick as you can and attend to customers need as much as it is within your capacity.

As a business owner, it is important that you show your customers how passionate you are about your business, the zeal and passion you are able to deliver while handling business, will invite more customers to your business. There are going to be days you feel your idea is not worth it, those are the days you need to develop strength, look for ways to turn awful situations to a pleasant one not forgetting to derive lessons from those bad conditions.

The moment you learn that satisfying your customer is a good way to win in business, you are building a business empire already, the way your business is moving is greatly proportional to how you are able to satisfy customers, turn your business into a place that consumers will always want to come back to.

Look for a way to stay on top of your competition, no matter how unique your idea is there is always going to be a firm or an individual to compete with you. In order to win the struggle of competition, you have to constantly look for ways of innovation.

Be moved with your net profit, which is the total money made after expenses has been subtracted instead of the gross profit that just determines how much money is being made, be concerned about the money you make as well as the growth of your business. Business is good but it only thrives with an innovative mind.
