Cryptosecurity "Protect your assets" 💰
In this opportunity I would like to bring you a different publication from what I usually bring you, since this is a very important issue, not only for me, but also for the community to be correctly informed, at least in the most basic aspects. The topic I will share with you is about "Cryptosecurity and how to protect your assets".
The crypto currencies are currently booming, the digital era has arrived and is growing very strongly, therefore, all cryptographic projects based on Blockchain technology, are taking a great importance in the entire ecosystem, the most impressive is that the chain of blocks is relating to many important branches, including one of the most talked about today that is the decentralized finance or (DeFi).
Due to all this growth, it is important to protect all our assets and it is a topic that every enthusiastic Blockchain who has savings in crypto currencies should know; and it is the security that we should have so as not to risk our funds, since hackers are everywhere and it is necessary to keep us safe, also I as an investor want to tell you what I do so as not to put my private keys at risk, so come with me...
I'll start by commenting that each of the tips I'll mention to you is what I've done to make sure all my funds are safe, I say this from my own experience, since I've suffered losses due to mistakes I've made out of ignorance and I don't want this to happen to someone else and more when they are starting out on this type of platform, where we can obtain crypto currencies from our interaction, work and effort when sharing any type of content. Also, it will work for all kinds of work that you do with cryptoactives, so be very careful.
- The Cloud: The first thing we should not do, is not have our private keys to access our accounts or Exchange on any online platform that offers these storage services, they are vulnerable, so be very careful.
- Mail: In general many people leave their keys in their mail; and although for example "Google" offers a good security system, we can't trust it, in that sense I don't recommend keeping them under any circumstances in "Gmail or Hotmail".
- Automatic saving: Many times for convenience, we save our passwords and our access to many of the platforms that we work online automatically in our browser, this is an error, because if our computer is violated in any way will have immediate access to any platform, also if we leave it unprotected by chance someone in our absence could enter and steal them.
- Key printing: This is the most recommended, although it is something very basic, it definitely works very well, as long as you know where to keep these keys that is obviously safe and you can find it.
- Storing in messaging applications: This is something a little risky but it works very well for me, since I basically create a secret chat just for me in applications like WhatsApp or Telegram, where only I have access and where I know I can only enter through my smartphone. Watch out for this, you still have to be very careful, but this has worked well for me with the due care it requires.
- Ledger Nano: Finally, there are devices that connect via USB on a computer and can help you store your keys safely and so that they are always in your hands, I put an example a "Ledger Nano", as it is one of the most famous and secure devices in terms of private key storage in the cryptographic world that exists.
I hope that all these security tips help you to keep your funds safe, the truth is that it has worked for me to keep my security this way, as I said I have been hacked, having the practices that I said they should NOT do, so be very careful with this. I hope to see you in a future publication.
