The recognition and assessment of Intelligence is easy to determine.

In the day to day of our lives we are constantly making evaluations and appraisals about the intellectual level of other people. They are judgments that we can have, based on manifestations of behaviors and responses that we can obtain from our peers. Although there are also weighted methods that allow more precise calculations.

A school teacher is able to distinguish between bright and less capable students, this can be done only by applying his personal criteria, developed by his experience. But there are also the results of exams and evaluations of educational subjects or areas. These results can be averaged, and related in order to have a more accurate appreciation of the students' intellectual abilities.

But are these tests and methods, definitive techniques to conclude that a person is intelligent or not?

All these theories are presented as a definition of the "essence" of intelligence, although perhaps it lacks real essence. Because I am more inclined to think that Intelligence is the result of the mixture of all the different capacities.

This theory of a "general ability" is what inspires the prevailing pedagogy in school classrooms, where intelligence is related to the ability to obtain good results in evaluations that usually cover a series of 8 to 10 subjects.

The term "absolute" intelligence is totally abstract. Any definition of intelligence must be made in relative terms that take into account the incidence of the assessment instruments (tests, evaluations or tests) based on what is known in the philosophy of science as the "Principle of Verification", according to which the meaning of a claim resides in the observations by which it has been verified.

Theories about inherited intelligence are less supported regarding the influences of external factors such as the intellectual stimulation of family life and appropriate teaching. Although many things are unknown about the nature of intelligence, it is also true that we can affirm to a large extent its functioning and which determinants condition it.
