Economics And Liguistics: Any Symbiotic Relationship?

Economics and Linguistics are two different and distinct disciplines and economics cannot be done without liguistic analysis because in the society, organizing money and trading requires language understanding among the parties involved as we have different languages and currencies used as a means of exchange.

In economics, there is sonething called 'Entrepreneurship' and the Hornsby Oxford dictionary defines it as organizing and managing risks. An entrepreneur is then a businessman who assumes the risk of bringing together the means of production.

There are about four(4) types of Entrepreneurship namely

1. Mining and Agriculture Occupation

2. Manufacturing and Construction

3. Distribution Industry

4. Service Occupation

Liguistic has a fundamental role to play in economics and entrepreneurship as the linguist help in drafting and editing business proposals and carrying out feasibility studies.

Communication is key in all business transactions and the communication strategies are normally planned by language experts. To manage a business effectively and successfully, an entrepreneur needs to understand the solciolinguistics of the business community involved.

Now, it has been established that economics and linguistics are not strange bad fellows. There is a very beautiful and symbiotic relationship between the two and has been proven. Entrepreneurship today, requires modern management approach which also requires the service of linguists. The world economic order is now a functiin of ICT, and linguistics is a ready technically.
