We are just beginning to change the world. While a lot of us here are very wrapped up in blockchain and hive in particular in terms of the outside world we are operating in a very small and very niche area. (For now.)

99% of the world don’t know or care what is happening within the crypto circles and won’t care about it for a long time. Not until we reach a place where they can plug and play with crypto and it’s different uses. Those days will come but to everybody still on the outside we have a long way to go before it becomes relevant.

I wrote yesterday about taking the long term view for a project and based it on a gaming company that started in Ireland in 1998, launched an IPO at 65m in 2013 and is now valued at 2.2 billion 22 years later. They kept working and building regardless of what was happening with the company in the markets and the price eventually caught up.

The exact same thing happened with Bitcoin over the past 8 years and counting.

The same will happen with hive as long as we keep building and keep adding more reasons for people to use it. That company’s shares are now 34x what they were at the IPO launch and it took 8 years to get there with 22 years of building in total. People in crypto are looking for 10x in a year but it is all built on sand. Like the dot.com bubble it will be the survivors who thrive over the long term. We have already seen so many projects get started, get hyped up and then deliver nothing before they wither and die with a lot of peoples investments sill trapped inside.

Despite all of its issues over the past few years, hive has survived, is still here and still building. Personally I would love to see 34x hive in 8 years. I will still be stacking at that stage and with hive at $6.80 could live a decent lifestyle just from my daily earnings. $10 hive would be a dream and if we do keep building should see it someday but it wont be sustainable in the short term.

It will take years and lots of setbacks to get there.

That is why I don’t sell my hive. When we do get there I want to be sitting on a nice stack and ready to retire from it. I’m looking long term at the project and sustained growth.

Not another pump and dump. Believe me, if we can survive for the next few years and keep adding games, dapps, users, tokens, tribes, ect.....

The price will catch up at some stage. We just need to create buy pressure and all of these things will be a part of that. Give people a reason to invest. They already have a reason to power up and so do you.

I don’t want to be the Bitcoin pizza story of 2020. I want to be the person that said I bought hive at 20c and held it. That I could see the long game and wanted to have as much as possible.

Where will you be sitting in 8 years time?

With a stack from 8 years of activity or looking back with regret on 2020. When it was so easy to earn some hive like the old Bitcoin faucets......
