I could not resist this beautiful lavender rose to start my post. The flower looks familiar, so I may have used a similar photograph in the past. This one was not used before. I hope you enjoy the photo.

INTRODUCTION/INTRODUCCIÓN
I usually try and get my publication started early in the week so I can do a little at a time. Too many interruptions this week. and now I find myself behind schedule. I will keep working at it in my spare time and should be ready to publish by Saturday.

On Sunday my wife and I are going on a short trip and will be gone for 3 nights. We both can use the rest. I usually take my laptop, but Internet service is poor where we are going. If it is working I can log into my home PC and try to reply to comments and vote.

This weekend I am going to focus mostly on flowers, although I will be sharing one vegetable plant that I have been growing indoors for over one year. It probably should be put in a larger pot but I have never re-potted kale before. More on that later.

My next photograph is of a flower I photographed last summer. I am sure I shared a similar photo in the past. I find it to be a cheerful flower.

This next flower is very small, but thanks to macro-photography we can get a better view of a beautiful flower.

Winter is a great time to view sunflowers in all their glory.

I thought I would share a kale plant that I have been growing since last winter. It is probably a little over one year old. I kept it indoors the entire time. It is taller that the variety usually is because of its age. I keep taking the leaves from the bottom and follow it up. It should be put in a larger pot but I worry about it not liking the move. I have to check the water daily and have a tray under the pot so I can add more water. I eat some kale daily. It can be juiced, eaten raw in salad or cooked. I read somewhere a few years ago that by cooking it it makes more nutrients available. I also grow kale micro-greens which I like better for my salads.

I am using a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs, except where noted. I do have an older PowerShot Canon camera that I use from time to time. I have been using my phone camera for photos of plants in the plant room at times. Wildlife is usually taken by a stationary trail camera that takes photos based on motion.
