The new Hive blockchain and platform is due to be launched within a few short hours.
This is an update about what we know so far - and what we don't - and how it affects the MAPR fund and token.
Let me first clarify what we do know.
The MAPR program and fund will continue on both Steem and Hive. The Hive team has promised that it will airdrop all STEEM, SP and SBD to users as well as keeping any delegations in place. Hence, delegators to @accelerator need do nothing and should see their delegation still in place when they login to https://hive.blog/.
The Steem version of MAPR will continue as it has done for over 2 years, and profit distributions should be going ahead on Mondays as normal. Any serious interruptions to either Steem or Steem-Engine may affect this, but we hope some calm will return.
Over on Hive, the MAPR fund will need to wait to be able to create a new "MAPR-Hive" token on a new "Hive-Engine". This may take a few days and I hope delegators and token-holders will be patient. Our aim is to re-create the token and all tokens held by investors. Once that is completed, then we can restart to distribute profits. While we wait for the systems to be fully functional, we hope that "MAPR-Hive" may continue to be earning. In order to keep to the Monday schedule, we will definitely miss out this coming Monday and hope to be fully operational by next Monday, 30 March.
To avoid confusion, we shall change the name of MAPR and its Hive-token, but a new name has not as yet been decided. The management account shall remain @accelerator.
The one outstanding issue will be the value of the fund holdings within any new "Hive-Engine". This will wholly depend on the issuers of other tokens that we hold and whether or not they too will recreate their token distribution on Hive. We have assurances that TRENDO intends to do so, which is a good sign. These calculations will affect the price of the new "MAPR-Hive" token upon relaunch. We shall make a fair assessment once all systems are operational.
From then on, MAPR-Steem and MAPR-Hive will be two distinct and independent funds and will obviously have different prices depending on their profitability.
During this period of transition, we shall post the same updates on both chains. Once they are both fully operational, they shall each have their own updates and weekly accounts and distributions.
Thanks for being a MAPR member, and thank you especially for the trust placed in our MAP FinTech programs; we have experienced very modest disruptions and the vast majority of users have kept the faith! And we keep making profits.
