Even though many of us are still on full lockdown, it feels like time is flying by for the TravelFeed Team. We're accomplishing a lot of things these days but we have to wait until next week to announce them. So this week we're keeping it quick and short.

Here some unannounced fixes and features!

Improved Map With Filtering

We've implemented several filtering options to our TravelFeed Map, you can now just search by author, language or community. And if you're looking for the very best posts pinned to the map there is now a slider, which lets you filter for the Crème de la Crème of TravelFeed. We have also added a link to the maps for all communities - this gives you a new way to discover the best content from your favourite communities.

New Map Filters

Your Dashboard Navigation On Mobile

When you access the backend features of your TravelFeed account via a mobile device you'll find now a navigation bar at the bottom at your screen to easily switch between dashboard, creating a new post, list of your posts and more options to access everything else you're used to from the TravelFeed.io desktop version.

Dashboard Link

RSS Feeds

We're now offering all kinds of different RSS feeds for example for new posts, featured posts, feeds of our communities, author feeds. But the coolest RSS feed is probably the one for locations, so you can get updates every time there is a new post for Bangkok for example.

To get from a feed page to an rss feed, simply add /rss after travelfeed.io, e.g. the RSS feed for Bangkok (https://travelfeed.io/destinations/thailand/Bangkok) is https://travelfeed.io/rss/destinations/thailand/Bangkok.

El Cedral, an extraordinary wildlife refuge in The Plains of Venezuela written by @sofathana

A while ago I visited one of the most emblematic regions of Venezuela: Los Llanos (The Plains), cradle of the Joropo, the quintessential Creole music with its harp, cuatro (string instrument) and maracas!, land of endless savannas, scene of independence battles, inspiration of writers and singers, home to hard-working people and above all habitat for an extraordinary diversity of wildlife.[...]

Somewhere on the Edge of the World. New Zealand. Part 6 written by @sharker

After the noise and din of the Hobbiton Shire, I want peace and quiet. This is plenty to get at Hamurana Springs Nature Reserve. Huge sequoias brought from North America over a hundred years ago grow here. In addition, you can sit here on the shores of a cold lake filled with underground springs (therefore its temperature is always about ten degrees Celsius) and stare at the “dancing sands” at the[...]

Meaty Madrid: Don’t Cry for Me Argentina! (or Germany) written by @adambarratt

The cost was €18.90 per person and includes either a bottle of wine (yes, whole bottle), 2 beers, or 2 tinto de veranos (summer red wine)… and presumably soft drinks are an option too. I wouldn’t know much about that, as I went for the wine. Best bang for your buck right there. That’s not to say I drank the whole bottle. I’ll let you figure that one out[...]
