We have already talked about The mighty Yodin Zaku and the fearless Prince Rennyn in my previous posts. But today we will talk about another legendary summoner today. As you can already relate from the thumbnail, today we will talk about this heavily shielded Beast, the mighty Peakrider.
The inhabitants of Khymeria are generally strong and fearless. But whenever they hear the neigh of the peak rider horse, they close their doors and windows and clear the street. More than 15 feet tall, when this man rides the mountains of Khymeria with his fierce horse, nobody dares to cross his path. Many said he is a human but others say he is the servant of death. His long bloody scythe and his horse are always with him as they are one. The Peakrider also possesses a gigantic set of wings on his back but no one has ever seen him flying.
'The creature that rides the mountains of the Life Splinter strikes fear into the heart of every Khymian. His demon steed stands fifteen feet tall, with a long, sharp horn from its forehead that makes a mockery of the sacred Unicorn. The man himself (if he can be called a man) is never seen without his horse as if the two are one. He has mighty wings, but no one has seen him use them, and he carries a large, horrific weapon with him always. When the Peakrider stands at the summonerβs table in a Mount Mox tournament, few can face him without cowering.' - Splinterlore
Peakrider is a 5 mana legendary summoner from Life realm. Its a beta edition card and got printed out already I think. The best way to get a Pearider is from the market. So let us see the current listing prices of this awesome summoner.
As you can see from the above screenshot, there is currently 1 max Prince available at 128.31$ and will cost you around 238,048K DEC. The 1 BCX cards are starting from 11.5$ but much more pricy later on and it will cost you more at this point to make max Rider by buying 1 BCX card the current market rate.
There is also a level 3 (5 bcx) Peakrider on sell for low price, 52$ only which you will get at 10$ per bcx. If you have a gold level deck and looing for an awesome summoner, this could be your next big friend.
But why Peakrider is so popular?
Like any other big mana Legendary summoner, Peakrider is also considered to be one of the most powerful summoner in Splinterlands and it's way more powerful than the common 3/2 mana summoners. Especially on non-magic games, this summoner is impossible to fight against, but why?
The answer lies in the buffs/debuffs that particular summoner possesses. While others have generally 3 buffs, Peakrider Has 2 unconventional buffs. Such as...
- -1 range attack to all enemy monsters.
- +3 Armour to all friendly monsters.
It is as simple as that. Peakrider is a weak choice against magic monsters as that armour buff on the friendly monsters won't defend themselves from those powerful magic attacks.
But....
When you know the opponent will not use magic monsters (depends upon the ruleset, mana limit and available summoners of course) it is the best option to go with Peakrider. Without magic monsters, the opponent will depend upon melee and range attacks. And that's where Peakrider will catch you.
With the massive Armour buffs, your monsters will get +3 armour each and will become very hard to kill. Moreover, the -1 range attack will make the enemy archers weaker, giving you more time to ill those enemy monsters one by one.
You can make a large number of line ups with Peakrider depending upon the mana limit. Now that we have many new reward and untamed cards in life collection. You can always come with new ideas and strategies wit Peakrider. You may make an Immortal deck with Shieldbarrier and Divine healer and Armorsmith. Or you can go with high archer attacks with a god defence at the front or even a good sneak line up can do the job ;)
Today, I am going to try the Max level Pearider on the battlefield. Thank you @netaterra for this awesome card! I already have a max beta deck in Life region and also a good number of neutral cards to assist. Let me show you the Life cards before jumping in the battleground.

RulesetSo, It was aReverse Speed( The monster with the lowest speed will attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks) +Melee Mayhem( All melee monster can attack from any position). It's a large mana match and I shall go for Peakrider summoner deck with a group of melee and a good frontal defence.
At this much mana cap, I am pretty straight forward to use Peakrider as Water summoner is not allowed, but If the opponent uses Delwyn Dragonscale, I am finished ;) It costs 5 mana so I will be left with 35 mana, which is a lot really.
Line-Up
CLAY GOLEM
I chose CLAY GOLEM in the first place because of it's Void ability with high health. I have a max level and it has 4 melee attack at 1 speed and a giant 12 health. It also possesses 2 abilities as stated below.

Void- With this ability, the monster will take reduce damage from magic monsters. -
Enrage- With this ability, the monster will have increased attack and speed when damaged.
SILVERSHIELD PALADIN
I chose SILVERSHIELD PALADIN in the second place because of its magic reflect ability. I have a max level and it has 3 melee attack at 3 speed, 4 armour and a giant 9 health. It also possesses 2 abilities as stated below.

Shield- With this ability, the monster will take reduced damage from melee and ranged monsters. -
Magic Reflect- With this ability, the monster will reflect a portion of magic attack back to the attacker and will damage back.
RAGING IMPALER
I chose RAGING IMPALER in the third place because of its Piercing ability. I have a max level and it has 4 melee attack at 3 speed and a giant 9 health. It also possesses 3 abilities as stated below.

Piercing- If the attack completely broke down the enemy armour, the remaining damage will pierce through and will affect its health. -
Enrage- With this ability, the monster will have increased attack and speed when damaged. -
Shield- With this ability, the monster will take reduced damage from melee and ranged monsters.
HOBGOBLIN
I chose HOBGOBLIN in the fourth place because of its double strike ability. I have a max level and it has 3 melee attack at 5 speed and a giant 5 health. It also possesses 1 ability as stated below.
Double Strike- The monster will attack twice each round.
SILVERSHIELD KNIGHT
I chose SILVERSHIELD KNIGHT in the fifth place because of its double strike ability. I have a max level and it has 4 melee attack at 5 speed, 2 armour and a giant 7 health. It also possesses 3 abilities as stated below.

Inspire- The monster will give +1 attack to each melee friendly monster. -
Piercing- If the attack completely broke down the enemy armour, the remaining damage will pierce through and will affect its health. -
Trample- If it attacks and kills an enemy monster, it will launch another attack to the monster next in line.
HYDRA
I chose HYDRA in the last place because of its retaliate and healing ability. I have a max level and it has 4 melee attack at 4 speed and a giant 10 health. It also possesses 4 abilities as stated below.

Heal- The monster heals up a portion of its health when damaged. -
Thrones- When hit by a melee monster, damage him back. -
Retaliate- When hit by a melee monster, has a chance to attack him back. -
Trample- If it attacks and kills an enemy monster, it will launch another attack to the monster next in line.
Battle Result
Well, the match was simply awesome guys! The opponent used a fire deck on me but my giant warriors got able to survive for a long time giving enough room to others.

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...
- My opponent @ioioioioi used Fire summoner Malric against me.
- At the front position, he used Goblin Mech lev 9. He chose a heavyweight defence to his front and I just hope I get able to kill this shielded beast with my melee warriors.
- At the second position, he used Pit Orge level 7.
- At the third position, he puts Exploding Dwarf lev 9.
- At the fourth position, he chose Flame Monkey lev 6.
- At the fifth position, he chose Ettin Spearman lev 8.
- At the last position, he chose Cerberus King lev 6.
For me, It was quite an unpredictable match because of the uncommon rulesets and also 4 summoners were available to choose from, but gladly I was lucky enough to win this one. First of all my opponent has used fire deck on me But, my hard armour saved me from his high-level attacks. The shields gave me enough time to kill his monsters one by one.
As I told above, It was my luck that my opponent didn't use the magic dragon summoner or I would have lose against him. This stress forced me to place SilverShield paladin and Clay golem at the front. B they worked good on non-magic monsters too.
Again, It was a great match and my opponent also had a great line up.
