Those Markets....very calm 🤨

still many long positions, some got triggered last night (european time)

slight decoupling of the markets

I guess another shock in the stock markets will trigger Bitcoin to fall further. Miners are enterprises and they can get rekkt as well! It is hard for me still not to buy. But I want those sub 100$ ETH 🤤. What are you doing?

Topic of today

I don´t think that neither Steem nor Hive will see the full potential of what decentralized social media could be, but who knows.

An on-chain ⛓ content voting system needs to consider two mechanisms:

  • A) selecting scam, spam or in general malicious posts from non malicious posts.

Scam, spam or maliciousness is far less subjective than content quality.

  • B) selecting for content quality

Good content is discovered organically by either majority-decision (bottom-up) or expert decision (top-down). Not by token-voting.

This is what is wrong with proof-of-brain

When you are a stakeholder (we all are) the amount of token does not give you better abilities to find quality content. You will not vote content which is maximal beneficial for the success of the platform.

Either you are an expert or you should let people do it organically

If you want to maximise the popularity of your plattform you can go two paths:

  • Either you do it like MSM or Hollywood and you study and manipulate people and make them consume your shit because you have mastered the game of manipulating demand

  • OR you go the organic bottom way of letting people decide what they like.

We should not vote for content as a stakeholder

Having a stakeholder as decision maker for what good content is, is the worse of both worlds. Your stake is not a function of your expertise! It is just a proxy for skin-in-the-game.

>>This is why we see content which has almost no comments.<<

Stakeholder should do governance and NOT decide what good content is!

What Steem completely missed

However, there are things where stake-holder involvement makes sense and where they should be rewarded. Somebody needs to be the guardian of consensus, those actor we call Block-producers, Witnesses, Miners, Stablepoints, Superrepresentatives, Masternodes, ... Those actors are paid for generating honest consensus.

On platforms like Hive somebody needs to be the guardian ⚔️ of proof-of-brain 🧠. Guardians don´t dictate content, they select malicious actors by down-voting malicious contributions. Quality-discovery does not need down-votes when users decide democratically. The content with the most likes gets the most rewards. This is a freemarket. Very close to what we see on Instagram and YouTube.

Let stake-holders bet!

Let Stake-holders bet on what they think is scam, lets them bet on what they think is a good proposal. Who ever thinks he/she has expertise will bet or propose. Here is a actual discussion on raycoms article
