Follow Friday - When moon?
Like many of you I keep an eye on the $Hive price, It has seen some increase this week. I do tend to compare it to $Steem and it is good to see more of a gap open up. Steemit are due to power down over seven million in a few hours. If they sell that then it could affect the market.
Prices from @coingecko.
There are lots of other statistics we can keep an eye on. The Steemworld tool was popular for providing lots of details of your account. It has been cloned as HiveTasks, but the creator seems to have some beef with @themarkymark. I see 'Marky' do a lot of good around Hive dealing with abuse. He will have reasons for downvoting people.
I do not endorse this message.
Other places to see statistics are:
- HiveStats from @leofinance.
- @peakd also provides lots of data in the Tools screen.
- Hive Reports has lots of useful charts.
- HiveBuzz from @hivebuzz (aka @arcange) awards various badges for your achievements. I just got one for giving out over 100,000 upvotes. I wonder what those are worth. It also lets you see user rankings by different criteria.
Of course I will also mentions some individuals worthy of your attention:
- @tlundy47 is a cool musician who is involved with @atomcollector, but also posts his own music. CHeck him out if you like it funky.
- @bexe is a rock guitarist from Guatemala who just joined. He was introduced by @recording-box who are helping to build the music community on Hive.
- @artemislives does something like #followfriday in Artemis Shares posts featuring new Hivers. She also writes for @naturalmedicine which features posts on envirnomental issues.
- I will give another mention to @risingstargame who have created a fun game based around the music industry that you can start playing for free.
- Special mention to @dickturpin who tells it like it is. He also has a cute dog and does his own Friday posts on his blog that include the Hive community.
- From @dickturpin I found out about @flaxz who is building a knowledgebase about Hive. We need something like this for new users.
I have said many times that building the Hive community could be more productive than just trying to earn for yourself as we need to be bigger to get attention and add value to the $Hive token. It may be a long-term game, but we all stand to benefit. Less self-voting and fishing for curation rewards on trending posts could get more rewards to the new accounts we cannot afford to lose.
Please share your own #followfriday suggestions in the comments or your own posts.
Hive five!
