Un saluto a tutti,
stare tutto il giorno al volante del "mio" furgone mi permette di passare molte ore a riflettere e mi concede molti spunti per possibili pensieri da condividere con voi allo scopo di stimolare una discussione.
Non lo avrei mai detto, ma quello che mi manca adesso è il tempo, mentre le idee continuano ad affollare la mia mente.
Una cosa che ho notato in questi tre giorni in giro per la Puglia è come tutti o quasi stiano abbassando la guardia nei confronti del Covid-19. Se fino a due mesi fa eravamo terrorizzati all'idea di uscire di casa e incrociare ogni potenziale portatore del virus, oggi tutti questi timori sembrano esser stati messi alle spalle e si vive la quotidianità in un clima molto più sereno.
*Forse troppo?
Ecco cosa ho potuto constatare in diverse città Pugliesi, Lucane fino ad arrivare al basso Molise.
**LE MASCHERINE*
Se prima era impossibile trovarne una, adesso sono partiti i saldi, se ne trovano in quantità spropositate quasi ovunque e alcuni negozianti le regalano se si supera una certa spesa presso la loro attività commerciale.
Da oggetto del desiderio e di estrema necessità a gadget promozionale, con l'ingegno italico pronto a sfruttarlo come strumento pubblicitario! Si avete letto bene, alcuni esercizi che ho visitato avevano fatto realizzare mascherine personalizzate con il proprio logo e le davano in regalo superati i 25 euro di spesa.
Forse oggi rappresentano più un accessorio come può esserlo un cappello o una bandana, visto che ne ho viste di tutte le fogge ostentate come capi di abbigliamento firmati.
Ma la cosa comune che ho notato è che quasi nessuno le indossa più, vengono appoggiate su un orecchio abbassate sotto il mento e addirittura portate a mano come se fossero una borsetta.. ovunque tranne il posto dove devono stare: su bocca e naso!
**IL CONTROLLO DELLA TEMPERATURA*
Doveva essere lo strumento di controllo per eccellenza per l'entrata in un esercizio commerciale; prima di entrare in un negozio doveva essere misurata la temperatura e se superiore ai 37,5° al cliente doveva essere impedito di accedere allo stesso.
Ho visto qualcuno usare il termoscanner? Si certo, ma non per lo scopo designato. Ad esempio un cliente lo ha usato per misurare la temperatura delle mozzarelle che gli stavo consegnando per verificare che nonostante la calura, la catena del freddo fosse stata rispettata.
Specifico che addirittura non tutti gli esercizi commerciali erano muniti di tale strumento, cosa che considero abbastanza grave non tanto dal profilo legale quanto da quello della sicurezza personale.
**IL DISTANZIAMENTO E L'ENTRATA SCAGLIONATA*
Da questo punto di vista devo dire che quasi tutti facevano entrare i clienti in gruppi a seconda della grandezza del punto vendita; dico quasi perchè in qualche caso ho assistito ad assembramenti nei negozi, cosa che mi ha fatto parecchio storcere il naso perchè a conti fatti ho dovuto accettare la situazione e consegnare la merce, mentre sinceramente avrei voluto scappare a gambe levate.
Io credo che non rispettare le distanze di sicurezza e permettere ai clienti di entrare senza porre dei limiti sia molto rischioso per tutti.
Ho visto molta gente anziana in queste situazioni e considerando la loro predisposizione ad essere la fascia più a rischio di subire conseguenze gravi dal Covid-19, la situazione si fa ancora più incresciosa.
Ho avuto anche modo di verificare la stessa situazione in molti Bar e Pasticcerie con angolo caffetteria, in quanto il caseificio per cui lavoro ha in vendita dei prodotti destinati a loro.
Si parlava di distanziamento tra i tavolini, entrata scaglionata e consumazione al bancone destinata ad un certo numero di avventori per volta.. tutti buoni propositi sulla carta, ma non certamente realizzabili e realizzati nella realtà.
I bar e le caffetterie lavoravano come se il coronavirus non esistesse, i tavolini erano sempre nelle stesse posizioni e nessun distanziamento era stato rispettato. L'unica cosa che poteva portare alla mente il Covid-19 era l'uso delle mascherine da parte dei baristi e del personale che serviva ai tavoli.
**LE SPIAGGE*
Ieri ho consegnato prodotti nella zona del Gargano sconfinando in alcune zone del Molise. Io a sudare nel furgone e davanti a me splendide spiagge prese d'assalto dai bagnanti che invitavano a unirsi alla mischia e fare un bel bagno...
.. ehi, un attimo: e il Covid-19?
A quanto pare il mare batte il coronavirus ed è capace di cancellare la memoria di tutti, se si tratta di prendere la tintarella o di fare un bel tuffo rinfrescante in un'acqua cristallina!
Distanziamento, temperature, mascherine, assembramenti... tutte parole senza significato in quel mare di ombrelloni che coprivano ogni centimetro delle spiagge libere. Devo ammettere che da quanto ho potuto vedere, ovviamente di sfuggita, i lidi balneari sono stati più ligi al dovere e hanno cercato di distanziare le sdraio e gli ombrelloni ma nulla hanno potuto fare per imporre il distanziamento una volta che i bangnanti erano in acqua.
Alla luce di quanto ho scritto sembrerebbe proprio che qui nel profondo sud il coronavirus ha smesso di fare paura e la vita sembra che stia lentamente tornando alla normalità. Devo ammettere che nonostante i molti atteggiamenti sbagliati e non rispettosi delle regole, i nuovi casi accertati restano davvero molto bassi e questo impone una seria riflessione.
Perchè il Covid-19 ha colpito duramente delle zone del Nord Italia risparmiando completamente il Sud, nel quale è vero che ci sono stati dei casi ma nella totalità di sicuro in misura nettamente inferiore a quelli della sola Lombardia?
Sono domande che difficilmente troveranno una risposta.
Io per quanto mi riguarda continuo a portare maschierina e guanti quando entro in contatto con tutti i commercianti e sebbene qualcuno mi abbia anche preso in giro per eccesso di sicurezza, io preferisco stare al sicuro e soffrire il caldo piuttosto che rischiare inutilmente!
Quello che mi chiedo è se l'atteggiamento generale di sicurezza percepita ha davvero un senso o se ci troveremo nuovamente alle prese con nuovi focolai seguiti da nuovi confinamenti a casa.
A questo credo che l'economia del nostro paese non potrebbe sopravvivere.

I would never have said it, but what I miss now is time, while ideas continue to crowd my mind.
One thing I have noticed in these three days around Puglia is how everyone or almost everyone is lowering their guard against Covid-19. If up until two months ago we were terrified at the idea of leaving home and crossing every potential carrier of the virus, today all these fears seem to have been put behind us and we live our daily life in a much more serene climate.

And here's what I've seen in several towns in Puglia, Lucane up to lower Molise.
**THE MASKS*
If before it was impossible to find one, now the sales have started, you can find disproportionate quantities almost everywhere and some shopkeepers give them away if you exceed a certain expense at their business.
From object of desire and extreme necessity to promotional gadget, with the Italic ingenuity ready to use it as an advertising tool! Yes you have read well, some exercises that I visited had made custom masks with their logo and gave them as gifts over 25 euros of expenditure.
Maybe today they are more of an accessory like a hat or a bandana, since I have seen all the styles flaunted as designer clothes.
But the common thing I noticed is that almost nobody wears them anymore, they are placed on one ear under the chin and even carried by hand as if they were a handbag... everywhere except the place where they should be: on the mouth and nose!
**TEMPERATURE CONTROL*
It had to be the control instrument par excellence for entering a shop; before entering a shop, the temperature had to be measured and if it exceeded 37.5° the customer had to be prevented from entering it.
Did I see someone using the thermoscanner? Yes, of course, but not for the designated purpose. For example, a customer used it to measure the temperature of the mozzarella that I was delivering to him to verify that despite the heat, the cold chain had been respected.
I specify that not all shops were even equipped with such an instrument, which I consider quite serious not so much from a legal point of view as from a personal safety point of view.
**DISTANCE AND REVOLUTION*
From this point of view I have to say that almost all of them let customers in groups depending on the size of the store; I say almost because in some cases I have witnessed gatherings in the stores, which made me very upset because on balance I had to accept the situation and deliver the goods, while honestly I wanted to run away.
I believe that not respecting safety distances and allowing customers to enter without setting limits is very risky for everyone.
I have seen a lot of elderly people in these situations and considering their predisposition to be the most at risk of serious consequences from Covid-19, the situation becomes even more regrettable.
I have also seen the same situation in many bars and pastry shops with a cafeteria corner, as the dairy I work for has products for them on sale.
There was talk of distance between the tables, staggered entry and consumption at the counter for a certain number of customers at a time... all good intentions on paper, but certainly not feasible and realized in reality.
The bars and cafeterias worked as if the coronavirus did not exist, the tables were always in the same positions and no spacing had been respected. The only thing that could bring to mind the Covid-19 was the use of masks by the bartenders and the staff serving at the tables.
**THE BEACHES*
Yesterday I delivered products in the Gargano area, crossing into some areas of Molise. I sweat in the van and in front of me beautiful beaches stormed by bathers who invited to join the fray and take a bath ...
Hey, wait a minute. What about Covid-19?
Apparently the sea beats the coronavirus and is capable of erasing everyone's memory, whether it's taking a tan or taking a refreshing dip in crystal clear water!
Spacing, temperatures, masks, gatherings... all meaningless words in that sea of umbrellas that covered every inch of the free beaches. I have to admit that from what I could see, of course in passing, the beaches were more ligi to duty and tried to distance the deckchairs and umbrellas but nothing they could do to impose the distance once the bangnanti were in the water.
In light of what I have written it would seem that here in the deep south the coronavirus has stopped being scary and life seems to be slowly returning to normal. I have to admit that despite the many misconceptions and disrespect for the rules, the new cases are still very low and this requires serious reflection.
Why did the Covid-19 hit some areas of Northern Italy very hard and completely spared the South, where it is true that there have been some cases but in the totality, certainly in a much smaller measure than those of Lombardy alone?
These are questions that are unlikely to find an answer.
As far as I'm concerned, I keep on wearing taps and gloves when I come into contact with all the traders and although someone has also made fun of me for excess security, I prefer to be safe and suffer the heat rather than taking unnecessary risks!
What I am wondering is whether the general perceived safety attitude really makes sense or whether we will again find ourselves facing new outbreaks followed by new confinements at home.
I believe that our country's economy could not survive this.
