There are thousands of active political groups around the world and today they are increasingly becoming aware and open to the idea of accepting bitcoin donations.

Some of those groups might face difficulty in getting other payments through traditional money systems, different corporations like PayPal and others.

This is because some individuals or groups might be censored and kicked off of those platforms, for one reason or another, and when they are they can turn to something else that is decentralized which still gives them an option and that means they are turning to cryptocurrency.

In this way, cryptocurrency gives power to individuals to fight against corrupt political and monetary power structures.

It will probably just be one more reason for the government to say that cryptocurrency is the currency of 'radicals' or extremists, just money used by criminals, but for right now it is offering a solution to those who need it and bridges the exchange between those who are willing to give it.

Some others might turn to using cryptocurrency to make donations because they are looking for some form of privacy when sending that money. The reality is that it provides a solution when others are blacked out from centralized exchanges and banned from accepting payments.

From Hong Kong, to Nigeria, the United States, and elsewhere, you can already find a variety of groups and individuals who claim to be political activists who are accepting bitcoin donations and donations of other cryptocurrency options, they've already been doing this for years now.

Not only are political activists using cryptocurrency but so are political representatives too. Increasingly they are accepting donations in this form to try and get more campaign funds together.
