With the COVID-19 reopening plans underway for various places, it has meant that many businesses are limited to how many people they can serve, where they can serve, and what services they can offer etc.

For about 1 in 5 restaurants it might mean closing their doors for good. For others, those who have drive-thru access, or easy patio options, these are going to help those businesses to succeed during a time of great uncertainty when many of their competitors will likely fail.

Thanks to the increase in drive-thru orders and pick-up options it has meant that restaurants like Chick Fil A and others are seeing a boom in their drive-thru business right now.

But then again, Chick Fil A has always had a busy drive thru because of the popularity of their chicken products.

Now, some people have been tasked specifically with trying to handle the influx of cars coming to order.

As you can see from the image above, there are a variety of employees that the restaurants are sending out to the parking lot in order to deal with the overflow of traffic and sort out the orders, greeting drivers, and more.

While some restaurants might be able to open new patio spaces, they are still heavily restricted because of the distancing measures that they must meet.

Prior to this incident taking place it was already hard enough for your average restaurant business to try and turn a profit and stay in business for a long period of time.

In order to be successful they need to use every space of their property available to them, in order to serve potential guests. If they fail to monetize that potential space then it could come at great cost, their ultimate downfall.

These new rules will heavily restrict what success they can see. Some might still have to close, even though they've been allowed to recently open once again.

With many people who've recently become used to the contactless pickup options and drive-thru convenience over the past few months, those habits might continue and go on to fuel those same demands for the future of fast food.

For some restaurants around the United States that have already opened have had to close their doors again after employees tested positive for the virus.
