I was watching Ivan on Tech this morning, a Crypto channel on Youtube. He showed a video of a representative of the FDIC asking people not to pull money out of their bank accounts. This made me decide to do just that. I remember in 2008 many banks closed their doors for days due to a #bankrun occuring. Fannie May and Freddie Mac were just a few. So with this word of from the FDIC im not taking any risks and protecting my future.

But before I did, I put on my belt, my holster and my Glock. Going to ATMs early in the morning can be risky, especially if criminals are hearing many people are going to the banks. So I figured I could encourage some social distancing by open carrying my glock.

This pistol is my Glock 19 Gen 4. It shoots a 9mm round and can hold alot of them. It does not have a safety, which may be scary to many people. But in a split second situation id rather not have it. I like to carry this gun as its not flashy, its light and the small caliber will likely not shoot through objects and hurt innocent people.

I use Wolf ammo, I should use better ammo but I just happened to have these bi-metal rounds.

This gun was built in Georgia, there is a plant in Smyrna. I bought it shortly after moving to the state. Glad we have such open carry and concealed carry here. People will give you more space, at least 5-10 feet ive noticed.

I went to the ATM and successfully pulled out the max amount I could for the day. I did not see anyone around and had no issues, but glad I was carrying.

Having some cash on hand, is a good idea. And if the banks, credit card companies and the internet goes down ill be glad to have something. Even if this QE (money printing) is making the money more worthless every day. The money printer goes brrrr.

An important thing about carrying a gun is to shoot it without ear protection at least once. This may sound silly and dumb as you could hurt your ears. But its important to know how loud a gun is, as when wearing ear muffs it really cuts out the sound. Ive shot my pistol once without ear protection to know what to expect if I ever have to in an emergency.

Also, keep in mind carrying a gun can be dangerous for your health if you are not careful with it. And if you are not aware of your surroundings someone could grab it and use it on you. So its important to keep an eye around you, a good ten feet and keep your gun hand free if you need to protect the pistol.
