I have been trying to work on art on a regular basis. Practice, practice, practice and you might get something that doesn't look like a baby threw up on the canvas. That's how many artists feel about their own work from time to time. An artist is always highly critical of what they do. In my opinion if they aren't, then they won't keep trying to create. As long as they don't drive themselves mad in the process.

I have watched hundreds of videos on different painting techniques and all of them get to a point I would say stop. The keep on, most of the time it comes out great. If I keep playing with something it looks like mud. My colors mix to much.

I did these a couple of days ago. I don't finish any of my paintings with a lacquer or resin simply because that stuff is freaking expensive and I am not selling the piece directly to someone. If I were, then I would. I chose to do a pale peach background rather than the regular stark white or black. When I use black as a background it swallows up any color I use. Sometimes the white is too stark. So the colors used are peach, purple, lavender, bright pink, lemon lime green, christmas green and lemon yellow.

At first I decided I was going to work on a dip technique. Usually with a dip technique you put your design on a base canvas then on a second canvas you sandwich the 2 together. This one I used a sheet of mixed media paper

Canvas

Paper

It's not a hard thing to do, but air bubbles are the enemy. If you look at the one on the paper towards the top, there is an area that is just missing almost everything. That is an air bubble.

On the second try, which I always do because I try to use the paint I have made up before moving to other colors. I used a grocery bag as my base to dip the canvas in and changed up my design a little bit.

When I pressed the bag onto the canvas, I swiped from the center to the outside of the canvas. Can't tell LOL. I had fun and really enjoy playing with this technique. I'll keep practicing until I find what mix of everything works for me.

I hope you guys like this.
