Welcome back to my blog, @queen-silvia. So in this week, the ruleset theme of the Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge is Armored Up. Do you excited with it guys? 😀 Well, I am excited whatever the ruleset is, because I love all them and there are specific strategies we should utilize in order to win the match 🏆. Yeah, for sure. Alright, before we are discussing about Armored Up 🛡 ruleset in depth, let's take a look at the basic concept of Armored Up 🛡 first, Here we go :

What is Armored Up?

Additional 2 armors 🛡 for all friendly monsters!, Wow, Does that sounds cool? The Armor will protect our monsters from melee and ranged attack. It can also protect our monsters from magic attack 🎩 if we used Grand Master Rathe as a Summoner. Well, Now the question is, What's the key 🗝 strategy to win this battle when Armored Up 🛡 ruleset coming up? The answer is to destroy all the opponent's armor using Special ability like Rust ability_rust.png or Shatter ability_shatter.png.

  1. The Shatter ability_shatter.png ability will destroy all of the Opponent's armor 🛡 when the attack hits the target, so no matter how high the armor 🛡, it will all broken in one hit, Sounds pretty cool right?

  2. The Rust ability_rust.png ability reduced all of the opponent's armor by 2. It works when the battle ⚔️ started and will be deactivated when monsters with rust ability died in the battle field.

Well, in this article, I'll explain about How to use Shatter ability_shatter.png ability properly using The Immortalis as the Summoner. He is the new Chaos Legion Legendary Summoner from Earth Splinter who is very useful in many rulesets. Let's Go!

Rulesets

There are 3 rulesets in this battle, Here they are :

Well, based on the three rulesets above, the most dominant ruleset is Broken Arrows 4 (4).png, that means only Melee and Magic attack can be used in the battle. So some right summoners to be used are Mylor Crowling as he gives Thorn ability_thorns.png ability and Immortalis as he gives void ability_void.png ability to reduce the magic attack. Well, Defensive Players will use both Summoners, but if you like attacking strategy, you may use Tarsa to increase the melee 💪 damage or Valnamor / Alric Stormbringer to increase the magic 🎩 damage.

Another ruleset which has significant impact is the Armored Up armored-up (1) (1).png. This is the second reason why Immortalis is important. He gives all friendly monsters shatter ability_shatter.png ability to destroy all of the opponent's armor 🛡 in one hit. The last ruleset is Stampede stampede.png. This ruleset is useful if we put monster with Trample ability_trample.png ability in the arena since they can hit another monster once the target killed, but armored up ruleset is the barrier.

Mana and Splinters

The battle consisted of 56 mana, Pretty high for Gold League so we can arrange good team consisted of Melee 💪 and Magic 🎩 monsters with various options. I was thinking about whether using Mylor or Immortalis in this battle but since the mana is high, that means player will likely use magic 🎩 monsters more than melee 💪 so I decided to use Immortalis. The Armored Up ruleset make me more sure that Immortalis is the right summoner.

There are 4 splinters available for the battle ; Water, Earth, Life and Dragon. Byzantine Kitty 😻 is also a good summoner for this ruleset since Dragon is available. The next section will show us what was the line up I used for the battle ⚔️.

Summoner

Level 3 Immortalis

Tips 💡

Use Summoners who give Void ability like Immortalis or Mimosa Nightshade if there's chance that the opponent will use magic monsters.

First Monster

Level 5 Grund

Tips 💡

Putting monster with no shield nor void ability as a tank is fine as long as we use taunt monster in the last position to protect him.

Second Monster

Level 2 Oaken Behemoth

Tips 💡

Second tank monster is very important in high mana battle.

Third Monster

Level 8 Sand Worm

Tips 💡

In high mana battle, Use Sand Worm to wipe out the opponent's monsters at the back line.

Forth Monster

Level 8 Goblin Psychic

Tips 💡

In high mana battle, Use Sand Worm to wipe out the opponent's monsters at the back line.

Fifth Monster

Level 8 Queen Mycelia

Tips 💡

Use amplify to increase the damage of Thorn, Magic Reflect, and Return Fire.

Sixth Monster

Level 6 Mycelic Slipspawn

Tips 💡

Use monster with taunt ability to protect friendly monsters.

Alright, all the line up has been explained, Now let's move to the battlefield and see how the strong Immortalis at Armored Up 🛡 ruleset.

Here is the battle looks like in the first round :

The opponent set lots of offensive monsters like Arkemis Bear, Carnage Titan, Chaos Dragon and Deep Lurker. All of them are attacking Mycelic Slipspawn because of his taunt ability_taunt.png ability. Unfortunately, Dr. Blight attack activates affliction ability_affliction.png to Slipspawn so Queen Mycelia could not restore his health points with her triage ability_triage.png ability. While the dragon team attack is going to Slipspawn, Sand Worm killed the opponent's monsters at the backline started from the Deeplurker first. Thanks to Goblin Psychic for reducing the Chaos Dragon magic damage, the dragon attack only inflicted 1 damage and the blast img_combat-rule_explosive-weaponry_150 (1).png effect has no damage at all.

The Power of Shatter

If we are looking at the battle, we can see how powerful Shatter

ability as it removes all of the 4 armor at round 1, 11 armor at round 2 and 8 armor at round 3. Very cool. Without Shatter, It will take several rounds to destroy those armors and there's chance that the earth splinters will be killed first since dragon 🐉 team is more offensive than earth 🍃 splinters. At the end of battle, the earth 🍃 splinter won the battle without any monsters falling down.
