It's no secret that activity on the platform especially during the weekends is low. Weekends are all about having fun and spend some quality time with friends and family after all.

But I have a feeling that even some of the most hard core Steemians who used to blog on daily basis, have decided to either take a short and in some cases...a long break.

Blame it on..

  • The ruthless bear market...

  • The fact that after 2 or even 3 years of non stop blogging...some get burned.

  • Real life...that happens from time to time.

  • People often run out of ideas.

Taking a short, or even long break from blogging is totally understandable. It is often a newcomer's chance to stand out from the crowd and be noticed if they produce something valuable and of good quality for the rest of the community.

That's exactly how I spotted a couple new authors lately, gave them a follow and consistently support them since then. I know that my vote won't trend a post...but it is probably enough to put a smile on a new author's face and maybe, just maybe push them to try even harder.

I live by a rule: Always put myself in someone else's shoes. That applies to everything in life, including my Steem journey.

Always remember how it felt when your posts payed out...nothing. And this must have happened to you more than once as a newcomer, right? Unless of course you were fortunate enough to have whale support from day one.

Voting only on proven authors posts, isn't the perfect way to put STEEM on as many hands as possible. We need even wider distribution.

We need people to shill STEEM on Twitter...on Facebook...everywhere. We need them to convince those very same people that they spend their weekends with...that joining Steem is an opportunity rather than a waste of time.

And in order for this to happen, we need to support every worthy author, artist, vlogger.

Put STEEM on their hands and they will advertise STEEM till the end of times...for free.

Ignore them and we'll lose a few more potential users along with them...

That's why curation is equally important to blogging if not more.

And we can't expect ONLY curation projects or whales to do that. Each and every one of us has 10x 100% votes to give daily. If we all do our part more and more people will have reasons to stay.

Sure there's a lot of junk and plagiarism. You can easily ignore the junk and downvote the abuse...and what's left will probably worth your vote. Or even a portion of it.

What's beyond me though is that some of the big names I came across when I was a newcomer that used to be active until a few months ago and were like mentors to me, have decided that powering down all their stake now...during all time lows, is a wise choice.

If one is hanging around and shill STEEM during good times, but decides to leave during the crypto winter...probably wasn't a STEEM believer in the first place...

Powering up is commitment. That's exactly why I just powered up another 700 STEEM.

If that's not a bullish sign then I don't know what is...

Have a great one people.

Cheers.
