Just a quick post today, my first in a while from this account, to give an update on what happens next with the @ssg-community account. Yes, this is @buggedout here – back in the saddle again after a bit of a hiatus. I hope some of the older members still remember me in this role before and I hope the new members will give me a chance to prove my worth.

The vote on a proposal to reform the @ssg-community account passed this week and I’d like to personally thank everyone who participated in the vote. I know that some people will be elated by the result, while others might be disappointed. It was a lot closer that I thought it was going to be but that’s the thing about democracy. You need to have the robust conversations every now and then and respect the outcome – even if you’ve lost. When we first set up this account it was very important that it had both community ownership and some decentralised, democratic governance in place to facilitate big changes like this.

Anyway, a centre component of the proposal was the development of some new code for the bot that runs @ssg-community and that’s where I come in. I will be sitting down today to start working on building Precious 2.0 that will be able to scan for tags and accrue vote allocations (among other things). It’s an exciting time because I can see so much potential in this community that has been a bit latent of late and I really think we can unlock that so that SilverGoldStackers can be the best that it can be.

I sincerely hope that everyone will get behind these changes and give us a chance to prove that this is going to lead to some really positive outcomes for this community. Thanks again!
